Description
This is Snowstar. She is part NightWing, part IceWing.
Her mother was Polaris the IceWing, and her father was Ravenclaw the NightWing.
Her egg was laid near the border of the Sand and Ice Kingdoms during her mother's journey back from the volcano island. Polaris had no idea she was pregnant and was especially shocked to find her egg glowing one night. That night, one of the three moons were full.

Polaris' next surprise came a few days later, the hatchling was mostly black, with light blue underscales, blue eyes, and the distinct icicle-like horns running down her neck. Her tail also thinned out and featured sharp little spikes on the end.
Polaris' first thought was of Ravenclaw. Then she thought of what would happen to the hatchling if she brought her home. She also thought of bringing the dragonet to the volcanic island of the NightWings, but that would put them all in grave danger, even Ravenclaw.
Just then, the little dragon made a high pitched chirping sound.
Polaris picked up the unnamed hatchling and continued on her way to the Ice Kingdom. Not far past the border, Polaris noticed that the dragonet was starting to shiver and she began to squeak constantly. Landing, Polaris told the hatchling to stay put, and off she went after an arctic fox that she'd spotted before landing.
When Polaris returned, she found her offspring playing in the snow. Then she noticed the star-like scales on her wings. "Snow, stars... Ah ha! I will call you Snowstar, my little Snowstar." At that moment, she never thought that she may need to abandon her one day...

Six years later:
"But Mother! I don't want you to go!"
"I have to my darling. You will be fine without me." Polaris said with a distant look in her eyes.
"Look at me, Mother! I won't be welcomed ANYWHERE in Pyrrhia. I can't go live with the NightWings and Father, and I most definitely can't be with you in the Ice Kingdom!"
"You will find someplace, I know you will."
"I know what you really think, Mother. You think I am just some abomination or something like that! You want to go back to the Ice Kingdom and just leave me here to fend for my self... everybody hates me, and they hate you for having me...."
"How could you possibly know that?"
Snowstar just looked at her mother sadly.
"Answer me!" Polaris roared.
"I don't know!! I see your dreams... I don't know how I do, but I do...."
Polaris began to back away slowly. Spreading her wings she said, "You and your NightWing powers stay away from me!" And with that she spun around and leapt into the air, never returning for Snowstar.

Snowstar's backstory is a tragic one, but she holds no grudges. What use would it be?
Snowstar never met her father, but she often saw him in her mother's dreams (she was hatched under one full moon, but because she is only half NightWing, her already limited powers are even more limited. She can see other dragon's dreams without the use of a dreamvisitor), although Polaris never really talked out loud about him, just a few grumbles here and there.
Snowstar is Midnight's great-great-great grandmother. Whereas Polaris went on to meet a handsome IceWing named Iceberg. Together they had three dragonets and never did Polaris mention Snowstar. Polaris is the four times great grandmother of Aurora, for whom my account is named. So Aurora, Midnight, Midnight's siblings, and everydragon in between these two families are related by the fact that Polaris is their common ancestor.
Seven and a half years after her abandonment, Snowstar had mostly given up on life. She was greatly depressed, she hated her reflection, she wanted to end it all.
So one day, she found an island with a tall cliff hanging out over the water. She had already tied her wings tightly to her sides so she couldn't change her mind and fly away.
Then she jumped.
She plunged into the cool water below and just as the air left her lungs, she was pulled right back out. Confused, she tried to escape the strong talons that gripped her wing arms. She was back on the cliff now with an unknown dragon still gripping her.
"You could've died just then." Said a male voice calmly.
"That was the plan." She said shaking.
"Well you're lucky that I was here to stop you!" He said cheerily. "The name's Nightterror, by the way."

And that is how Snowstar met her future mate, a young NightWing always dedicated to helping others. He never minded the fact that she was half IceWing, and neither did their three children, or their grandchildren, and so on. Snowstar always made a point of telling her family that she loved them. She heard tales of the volcano island from Nightterror. He told her many things, even things about her father. Slowly, Snowstar foind happiness, and although she never went back to her birthplace, she was peaceful knowing that she was loved by many someones.

Personality:
Used to be shy and depressed,
Now more outgoing and happy.
There are times when she slips back into depression, but Nightterror always pulls her back out.
She loved to spend time with her two daughters and one son (Daydreamer, Constellation, and Arctic [not the IceWing prince]).
She was born in a time about 200 years before the War of SandWing Succession and lived to be 92 years old. After Nightterror saved her life, she was constantly becoming a better dragon. During the times when Nightterror went back to the island, Snowstar would watch over her family and tell the dragonets stories of her past.
She always told them not to hold grudges and to be kind to one another.
It is unknown at what time parts of the family moved back to the Volcano, but it was most likely when Midnight's grandmother Windwhisper met the NightWing Nighthawk. It may have also been sooner when Windwhisper's father met the adopted NightWing, Starlight.
