After Penny perished during the fall of Atlas and her Winter Maiden power given to her friend Winter, Penny was suddenly taken back into life but in a much different way. While maintaining her ability to feel like a human she knew that something was off. She soon woke up to find a Mini-Con, Nickle, patching the girl up. Penny later realizes that she lives again, but part of her is Cybertronian now and it seems she's Techno-Organic, which puzzles the former medic of the DJD.

While Nickle did leave the Decepticons to chart out her own path she repaired Ms. Pollendina out of empathy for aiding the DJD. Little did she know that she would grow attached to this young spirit of light and become a Mother/Older Sister figure to Penny. Of course Nickle would scold the young Technorganic Huntress while she's out saving the world, but it means that she cares about her, and she doesn't wanna lose another family.
