My pictures mainly feature what I see through the window of the boom pod, but in this case it's the exact opposite. This is the view of the WSO (Weapon System Officer), the back seat-er of the F-15 Eagle. I was able to exchange info with him and retrieve the photo he took. So before you ask, Yes that is myself in the picture in the boom pod of the KC-135R.Photo was taken over Afghanistan 2014 during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Awesome shot! I've seen a lot of photos of planes taking on fuel from the tanker, but not a photo from the one who is actually receiving.

The boom pod is the area where the boom operator lays down to refuel aircraft. It's the bubble-like shaped area you see in the picture.
