Quite a big undertaking here...Meta-Ridley seemed the obvious choice for an awesome Metroid character to sculpt (Samus figures exist, Kraid and Mother Brain are boring... and well... those are pretty much all the characters). The version here is (obviously) the one from Metroid Prime 1, after you've grounded him by burning his wings off.
The largest piece I've done to date, Meta-Ridley measures 2 feet from wingtip to wingtip, and 21 inches from nose to tail.

Wow. The ONLY way you could have made this even cooler was by putting him in the bipedal stance he assumes when he's about to charge you.
And you're right: Kraid was always too comical for me, and Mother Brain? Worst villain name ever.

Dude, this is absolutely astounding. It's got nothing on mine. Got any tips for me? I use white sculpey, then paint and glaze. I would love a recommendation from someone as gifted as you.

My thing is that I never use paint. Mostly because I don't like it, but also because I've found that things end up looking much sloppier than if you just use different-colored sculpey from the start. I do use the official sculpey glaze though (like... all over Meta-Ridley, for instance).
As far as form, I could be wrong, but it doesn't look like your pieces have any armatures in them. Adding a wire skeleton lets you make much larger and more dynamic pieces that don't need to have short stubby limbs pressed against their bodies. And if you form some sort of base with the same wire used to make the skeleton, then you don't have to worry about balancing the figure on its feet, since it will already be integrated into a stable surface (Ridley is one of the only pieces in my gallery without a base).
After that it's just practice. I started doing this stuff almost 10 years ago and of course there was a time when mine looked a hell of a lot worse than anything in your gallery. Just keep on trucking. Improvement is inevitable.

nah, no paint. I only use the sculpey that is available to produce the desired color (possibly by blending).

Love it man. I was considering doing a Meta-Ridley myself but since the Ridley I made was for my friend and he wanted old school Ridley, that's what it had to be.
I love the tail, neck and (most of all) the limbs. The blue parts are looking pretty fine.
As for your mention of Mother Brain being a boring character to sculpt-- I can see how you'd come to that but I disagree. Think about it... using an upside-down peanutbutter jar with a cut out "glass smash" for the tank.
