Looking at the folds/puckers of the hat, it reminds me of Harvey Comics from the 1950's and 1960's (I think the peek quality is about 1956-1968). Have you studied the Harvey Comics style? If not you might want to check them out.

Happy to help, I have a diverse enough library. That now and then what I see in the artwork of an artist; will remind me of stuff that I have in my library.
