Chp. 1: Home Again

*Bill’s POV*

I walk outside the institution and into the arms of my dad, saying that he’s missed me.

Which is complete Bullshit.

I know he’s lying; he always lies about things like that. I hate him; I just wish he would stop lying to my face and start telling the truth.

We get into his car and he drives home.

My thoughts wander to Tom, wondering how much he’s changed over the years. I’ve changed my hair style; I got black and white dreads and lost a bit of weight.

I’m hoping that Tom will still love me, and that he’s not mad at me.

I’m going through my room; looking for something to wear since I’ve learned that Tom’s visiting his parent’s house for the week, and I want to go over and see him.

FUCK, what do I wear? Hm… Maybe this plain black dress and my combat boots… I guess that’s all I’ll need.

I get dressed, do my make-up lightly and leave to go see Tom.

I knock on the front door of Tom’s house and Simone answers. “Hello? Oh my… Bill, is that you?” she asks me, shocked.

“Yeah, it’s me… is Tom here?” I ask her, and she smiles and lets me inside her home. I see a little girl playing with some dolls in the hallway, and I know that she’s Tom’s sister.

Simone shows me into the living room where I can hear Tom talking.

“Tom, look who it is! It’s Bill!” She says excitedly. I see Tom on the couch, and I gasp; his hair is black with cornrows, he cut off his dreads.

And then I see HER.

Dina Jurgens! Why in the hell is that bitch here?!

“Bill? Oh my god Bill…. It’s been so long!” Tom gets up and pulls me to his chest. I smile and hug him back, realizing how much I missed his warmth.

When he pulls away, Dina is beside him, giving him a kiss on his cheek. “Tom, we better go if we’re going to meet up with Georg.” I try not to gag at the fake cheerfulness in her voice.

I look at Tom pleadingly, hoping that he won’t go; but he just smiles at Dina and tells her that they’ll leave in a bit.

“Bill, it’s nice to see you again. Here…” He writes something down and hands it to me; it’s his phone number and current address.

I’m cold and alone; I can feel it.

I’m home again, trying to find my phone so I can see if Tom is at his home, and to see if I could visit him.

I find my phone under my bed and dial in Tom’s number.

“Hello?” My heart skips a beat as I hear Tom’s voice.

“Tom, it’s me, Bill.” I say.

“Hey Bill… could you call back later? I’m kind of in the middle of something…” I shake as I hear a moan in the background, no doubt its Dina…

And… Are they having SEX??? I sniffle and hang up on him, not bothering to say anything to him.

I drop my phone onto the bed and cry; I’ve lost Tom, and he doesn’t seem to care.

After everything; AFTER EVERYTHING that I had to go through in that institution! Being raped by patients, raped by some of the doctors, getting tested for drugs and being beaten on a fucking daily basis!
