Drawing Disney characters in my own style & version is a lot of fun. I thought Ariel would be fun to draw and she was. I made her hair a bit darker than usual, because hair always looks dark when it's in the water. I purposely left the background a bit "streaky/watermarked" because the ocean is not one solid color of blue.

The actual (original) "The Little Mermaid" story is really sad. Disney tends to give fairy tales good endings instead of the original stories, which are pretty harsh.

Drawn with a Copic Multiliner (0.03) pen and hen coloured in with Copic Markers and Watercolours. The bubbles were drawn with a white gel pen.

Thanks! I'm not sure when I'll do more fan art (right now I'm working on original artwork) but I will draw fan art one in a while.

yeah, OC are always the best, but sometimes I like to see how a known character change when drawn by different artists.

Cute! I like the extra details and jewely you've added. Her hair is also especially pretty. I've had the hankering to watch this for a few days... need to do so!

The last time saw the movie was...gosh, I don't even know. It's been more than 10 years. I figured that I was drawing Disney girls in my style, so I thought I might as well draw Ariel. (And back in the days, when the movie first came out, it was my favourite.) I'm happy you noticed the different little details I added to Ariel. As for her hair, I was trying out a different way of shading & colouring hair...and I like it. Thanks for the wonderful comments.

Amazing as always. I like how you added your own style with the accessories and I love how you've made her look realistic, as opposed to the cartoon version.

Thank you very much for the on this. When I was looking at Ariel's design, she seemed to have the most simiplistic design out of all the Disney princesses (and when she is in human form, she wears that horrible pink dress!). I liked giving her all the accessories. To me, it seems like she would wear such stuff, being the daughter of the King of the Ocean.

Thanks! I wanted to make her hair flowing all over the place, since she is underwater. I was also trying a new type of shading (when it comes to hair).
