Description I am so sorry that this is late. I know I said I'd have this up by this [past] Monday, but I wasn't able to get onto deviantART until today for some strange reason. I don't know what it was, but the servers in this area wouldn't allow many of us Net users to get onto certain sites: this being one of them. It was so frustrating because I had finished this days ago & wanted to submit it, but I couldn't. But I am just so glad that the site is back up.

Yes, this is for , who was my 5000th page viewer, thus the winner of the Kiriban. He requested I draw this, so I did. (I hope this was similar to how you imagined it, avary!) I'm so sorry that I couldn't do this in watercolour. I don't have any watercolour paper at the moment, so I had to resort to mecha pencil. Please forgive the horrid background (I'm not too good with scenery), but yes, Avary, Katrina, Elliot, & Christie are in a park. And please forgive the dodgy scan; there was nothing I could do to fix it. ;_; Nothing at all. But I still hope you like it~!

As for translations for what they are saying, here they are (You read it from right to left!):

Christie: You are cute...no...handsome, Elliot.
Elliot: R...Really?
Katrina: W-what!? That cheap woman~!
Avary: Calm down, Kat-chan. *Fu fu* This is wonderful~!

These characters are not mine. The ninja on the right belongs to & Katrina-chan belongs to . Elliot & Christie are characters from Team Ninja/ Tecmo's Dead or Alive 4 game (on X-Box 360).

This illustration is drawn with a simple mecha pencil.

Yes, it's just a mech-pencil. I only use mech-pencils, because I am clumbsy with the regular graphite pencils. I'm glad you like it. Thanks for saying my Japanese looks nice. It's taken a while for me to get it look nice & clean. If you saw my earlier Japanese writing from a while back, it looks so sloppy.

Yeah, in pencil, her outfit does look a bit like Mai's. It's actually pink & white...Katrina's outfit that is!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments, konrei-sama~! How long have you been writing Hiragana & Katakana? I'm used to it, because I've been writing in it for a couple of years now...even with some Kanji. (But I still have so much Kanji to learn!) I remember when I first started to learn Japanese & how to write Katakana and Hiragana...well, I was so bad at it! Now that I look at my older sketches & see my so-called attempt to write in Japanese...it is very embarassing, because of all the mistakes I made with the Katakana & Hiragana!

XD i'll try watching more Japanese Lessons on TV now....XD XD XD

Danke schΓΆn, Yurumi. I'm very happy you like it. I am also glad you say that I can write Japanese well. I try to write it as neat as possible. I've been writing it for a couple of years, but as for the language itself, I still have so much to learn. Especially with Kanji...now that is very hard!

My god you even speak german! I'm currently learning Japanese at University, and it's quite difficult... We're starting with Kanjis Monday!!! We're gonna learn 100 till July! O_o

AyaneShinobi In reply to Yurumi [2006-03-30 00:03:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I only know just a little bit of Deutsch. I wish I knew the entire language! That way I could speak to my friends from Germany in their native language! I should get my friend Benedikt (he's a foreign exchange student at my university) to teach me some. It sounds so cool when he starts saying stuff in German!

Oh yes, Japanese is very difficult. Well, lucky you that you have Japanese classes at your university. I wish there was one at my university. All we have is Spanish & I'm taking Spanish II right now. It's hard to me! There are so many tenses, it's unbelievable. Oh wow, 100 Kanji to learn by July! Good luck! I've been studying Japanese for a while & I am ashamed to admit I don't even know 100 Kanji.

Great shading and detail. I've never seen a ninja eating mcdonald's before I always thought they would eat more healthy stuff Sorry my comment is so late

Ooooh, don't worry about a "late" comment! I find that no comment is ever late! I am always happy & ever grateful when people leave a comment. It means a lot of me to read people's thoughts & feedback on my artwork.

lol, yeah, ninja eating McDonalds. Well, McD does seem rather popular around the globe & from what I've seen/read/heard, McD is kinda popular in Japan, since it is an "American food"! *Laughs* Oh...*Laughs again*, that's so funny what you said: "I always thought they would eat more healthy stuff". I'm sure they do, but hey, we all love a little fast food once in a while, eh?

I'm not a fan of McDonald's either. But like I said, since it's rather popular, I just thought I'd make them eat it. Fish 'n' Chips are pretty good; I haven't had them for a while, but from what I can remember, it's pretty good stuff.

Oh, you're going to cosplay Elliot for an upcoming con? When is Anime Next? (I'm not too familiar with that convention.) But I do know about Otakon, since it's the biggest con on the East Coast. Which outfit of his are you planning on making? I'm also jumping onto the DOA4 cosplay bandwagon; I'll be making Kasumi's c4 costume for the upcoming AX in July. Sadly though, I won't be joining the large DOA group again, because I'm going to be in Trinity Blood on that day instead. But hey, I'd choose TB over DOA, because TB rocks & it's really rare to see a lot of TB cosplay in the U.S. So far, the group we have planned is pretty big.

Cool. I like the shading, it's so soft and fluid. Don't worry the background is nice as is. Your attention to detail is also good to point out as well. Those little ducks in the water, heheh, so cute. Mmmm... McDonalds... The dialogue is funny as well.

Excellent work and do keep it up (^-^)!

Thank you very much for your nice comments all the time.

Ha ha, yeah, I just had to put ducks in the water. At first, the lake was just so barren & I had wanted to put a heron in it, but I don't really know what herons look like. So I just settled with a duck & her ducklings.

As for the McDonalds, I wanted to make them eat In-N-Out Burger (a really popular hamburger joint in Southern California), but I figured, "Wait a second...In-N-Out isn't really well known to the majority of people!" Especially for ninja in Japan! lol. So I settled for McD, since it seems like everybody around the globe knows of this fast food chain!

Ah? Inside-out burger? Vat iz that? Oh ho ho, In-N-Out isn't inside out. It's just the name of the place. It's so awesome. Even the celebrities love it! I forgot which awards show it was (I think it was the Academy Awards) & they were talking to Jack Nicholson & asked him why he was leaving the banquet there. Well, his reply was that he wanted real food...which was the In-N-Out burger joint! That was so bloody awesome. It even showed the In-N-Out in Hollywood & some celebs were in there.

Ninja Burger! Awesome!!!!!

*Laughs too* Yeah, Christie sure seems like she enjoys teasing Elliot. In this illustration, it looks funny, because it just looks odd that Christie would be seducing somebody as young as Elliot. *Laughs* It is a very amusing concept that Avary came up with; I did enjoy illustrating this.

Oh yeah, double thanks for the on this too!

Zankyuu for the kind words. I'm glad that you (and the others who commented here) like this. I'm actually a little surprised to get quite a few comments on this. Here I was, being silly & believing that my pencil work, shading, & background in this wasn't perfect, but really, why should I be complaining and worrying about such benign stuff? *Laughs at myself*
