It's my birthday today!
November the 12th!*Ahem* Well, since ya'll know I
Final Fantasy XII very much. (My absolute favourite game ever.) Akihiko Yoshida's character designs are the most elaborate [designs] I have seen for a game yet. I want to do a bit of FF12 artwork so I thought it would be nice to start off with Ashelia B'Nargin Dalmasca, princess of Rabanastre. I absolute love her wedding dress, it's so beautiful. Ah yes, for you people who study & analyze proportions in art, no, her face is indeed correct! She's slightly looking down a bit with her head titled to the side. Yep.
I couldn't think of what to make for th e background, so I just filled it in with a veeeeery light {complimentary] purple colour (with Photoshop!) But everything else is watercolours. The scanner doesn't quite do the actual painting some justice but I do like how it all came out. ^_^ I wanted the colours to be soft looking.
I hope everybody likes this as well. I did work quite a bit on this artwork.

Yes, I agree FF12 takes time to play. The maps are huge! When I first played it, it took me about 110 hours to beat. When I got the walkthrough I played it for a second time...I still haven't beat it the 2nd time because there are a bajillion hunts & sidequests, so it takes forever. (I think I'm at 140+ hours now...I haven't played the game in a while because I've been busy but I'd like to go back to it and finish everything.)

I think I have somewhere around 80hrs already. I can't believe it's longer than FFX.. I had 115hrs on it after doing the Monster Arena quests and I thought that was bad. ._.

Yeah, FF12 is way longer than FFX by a long shot. Some of the hunts & sidequests are impossible. One of the hunts has over 5 million HP. And then there are the bosses/hunts that kill a character with one hit. It was hard getting all the Espers (even with the walkthrough guide). Zodiark (the 13th Esper) was hell. There are no savepoints in the area and the monsters in the area are hard...I think I died 7 times (and it takes 1.5 to 2 hours - without a save point - to get to Zodiark). A nightmare, I tell you!

Yes i agree the outfits in FFXII were pretty god, it was good to see that style and art return after seeing abit too much Anime styles in FF games, and yes Balthier is my fav then Vaan.

Bonjour! I'm happy that you came to check out my gallery, especially this piece. I really loved drawing Ashe in her wedding outfit. I wish I could have done the entire outfit, but I'm only limited to an A4 size paper (since scanner's are only so large). I supposed I could have drawn her on two seperate pieces but I'm awful with the...er...splicing? (I think that's the name when two pics are put together on Photoshop?) I did that once with one pic and it looked kind of odd. I suppose I need more practice with Photoshop editing. Wow...thanks for saying my work has a unique look to it. I'm glad.

Are you talking about when I put in the solid background behind my artwork (and how there sometimes is a light "line/halo" around the original artwork? I always have trouble with computer programs. So all I use is the clone tool? I'll have to try that next time I get the chance to work with Photoshop.

I wish I could work with bigger paper when drawing her...I would have loved to drawn her outfit in entirety. But since scanner's are only so big, I'm limited to working with A4 size paper.

Thanks! Ashe has got the most beautiful wedding dress. She only wears it at the beginning of the game. The character designer (of Final Fantasy XII) is Akihiko Yoshida. He is one of my biggest inspirations. His art is beautifully detailed. If only people in our modern society would dress up in costumes like this, imagine how beautiful the streets and malls would be. Unfortunately, people dress like slobs most of the time.

Yeah, that would be neat. The only place that people wear costumes like this are during the anime/manga/video game conventions. Quite a few girls/women have made Ashe's wedding dress. I used to go to conventions 2003-2007 but I just don't have time anymore. Costume making takes a lot of time, which I don't have. But I totally get what you're saying; it would be neat if we had a society that had elaborate outfits like that.

Thank you for commenting on this! It's fun drawing & painting in all that detail in the FFXII character designs. Wish I could have drawn Ashe's wedding dress in entirely but I'm only limited to an A4-size scanner, so I can only make my artwork so large.
