Description
The Norn armor from the ranger profession in Guildwars Eye of the North!I have finally finished my new costume, after about 1 month of (mostly) constant labour in the free time I had
Everything you see on the picture is made by me, except for some small things like the gloves and trousers
Last weekend I wore it to the Elf Fantasy Fair in Haarzuilens, which was really awesome again, as usual!
Picture was made by;
Design belongs to Arenanet
Hope you like it!

First of, i'd like to give you my highest compliment on this costume. It's incredibly well done, and highly detailed.
But i'd like to ask u a few questions, just out of pure interest and curiosity seeing i once wanted to make the same costume. Alright, well here are my questions, and i hope u'd like to answer them.
1) U mentioned earlier that u paid about 40 euros for the fabric, what i'm wondering is how much u paid for the metal sheets. and how u managed to craft them in such a way.
2) Was the fabric u bought, the brown fabric u used for the coat, already embroided? and if yes, where could one get such fabric?
3) My third, and final question. Where did u get that Fur, if i might ask?
In best regards, and with lots of kudos!

You are an inspiration. I've wanted to make my own for a while yet and I'm blown away by your final product. I'm not sure if I'm intimidated or revved up to try it.
Is it comfortable? As in, something you could actually wear on a blustery winter's day?
Kudos d(^_^)

Thanks for the compliment, but I'd see it as motivation to try it if I were you, it's a lot of fun to do for sure! And hey, the more the better right?
as for it being comfortable, I'd say in summer NO! but it would be pretty comfortable on a blustery winters day I think, and I'm going to find out when the time's right

I like this a lot! Very good!
My only critisism is the shin plate could have been rounded a little to make them less... squared really... Might just be me though ^_^;

Ayedail In reply to Karenthian [2010-05-03 19:26:50 +0000 UTC]
Yes I agree there and it wasn't really practical either, it kept moving to the side of my leg all the time but that's how I read the ingame model as those plates being flat anyway

soooo friggin' awesome!
Perfectly accurate, looks like it jumped right out of the game.
you could try making a woad or the mask in the future, though there's no real need for it. You look like an old-school Ascalonian ranger. fantastic work.

thank youu, it means alot hearing it from you
what do you mean by mask by the way? the thing they wear up to their noses usually?

adazu In reply to Ayedail [2010-05-04 10:06:12 +0000 UTC]
yeah, when I wrote that comment I imagined that the norn ranger set had a furry head-piece, but I now remember they don't. It's actually a pretty boring mask, looks very assassin-ish. If it was of a particular style, which was easily reckognised as Norn, then it could make sense to add it, but it really is not.
