A crisp walk in the woods near her ranch. That is all Azailia wanted. Did she get that? Absolutely. However, somewhere in that walk with two of her pokemon, Rainbow and Goblet, she heard someone coughing and smelt something burning. Of course she wanted to make sure no one was getting hurt, so she ran towards the source. When she entered a clearing, she saw a familiar looking Charmander, and then suddenly she was blinded by something. She was muffled by something soft, skin probably. She growled and bit down-hard. No one was going to kidnap her if it was the last thing she did! The man pulled back with a high-pitched scream and her pokemon had started fighting with the Charmander.

That leads up to now, where she had just turned to see her captor. She recognized him as that one Dim Sun grunt that tried to keep her from getting to the lab of those rarity Altaria! She saw nothing but red until she remembered that he was pretty weak. She waited for him to stop whining and actually look at her. With one look, he was terrified. "Oh no, not you! Anyone but you!" That made Azailia smile. "It's been a while guy. What was your name again? Jeremy? Justin?" The other looked absolutely livid in both fear and now a tinge of anger. "It's Jared! You disgraced me last time we fought! I still haven't lived down what you did to me!" Azailia smirked. "Oh yeah, I carried you like a princess! Where's the shame in that Jeremy?" The man didn't bother correcting her, instead seething in rage and ordering his pokemon to deal with her and her friends.

The charmander was first to strike, running at Goblet and attempting to strike her down with his tail. She dodged just barely, paying more attention to Rainbow, who was trying to break free of the Alakazam's psychic hold. Goblet simply dodged as she silently rooted for her friend, which pissed the other off to no end. Fight me dammit, the Charmander screeched as he started up the fireworks with his Ember attack. It was much more powerful than last time, signifying that he had trained since they last saw each other. This worried Goblet only a bit-after all she had trained since then too. She doubted that he would ever be able to defeat her.

Pay attention to me! Finally Goblet was struck down by a powerful Dragon Rage attack. That did catch her attention. She shook her head and then turned to face him, growling and hissing. Her eyes dripped poison into his as they locked, and they stared each other down as they paced in a small circle. It was a dominance battle, one neither would win anytime soon. They both held too much malice for the other to back down. He had been learning new moves, and Goblet had a nasty burn on her shoulder to prove it. She wanted to give him her own brand of scars before they were done though, and rest assured she always delivered on her promises.

She stood stock still, the other doing the same, and for a few seconds it was a stare down, neither wanting to back down or get closer to the other. She assessed his actions, as he did to her. They both thought carefully on what to do next, what moves to use, and what attacks they might need to avoid. The meticulous calculations of feral animals only consisted of hurt and don't be hurt, but still required full focus and time. Time which was spent tense, the air stale with the smell of burnt wood and ashes. Finally, the first to make their move was the male Charmander, charging at Goblet with such a sudden ferocity that her calculations couldn't keep up with his. She was tackled to the ground and bitten, scratched, charred, and spat at. All one could hear was the hisses of pain and the roars of victory as the other thought he had bested her with one attack.

How wrong he was. Goblet was pinned underneath the savage male, and she used her hind legs to push up on his belly, pushing him up in the air. She used the momentum to propel herself forward and get back on her feet. The other tumbled uselessly like a rag doll onto his side, quickly reacting and thrashing about to get back up in a hurry. Goblet used the distraction to her advantage, pouncing onto the other and spitting fire onto his face. He screeched in horror, shaking his head as embers got into his eyes. Goblet jumped up and off of him, backing off and starting to build up fire in her belly to shoot at her opponent. The other thrashed about, temporarily blinded and still on his side. As he was getting up and rubbing his eyes furiously, Goblet opened her jaw and fire seared in the back of her throat. You could hear it bubbling and boiling from far away. She readied her fire, aiming it at the other, and then she hissed furiously, spitting and spewing the flames at the handicapped lizard.

He was pushed back by the force of the Inferno of lava and flames, his claws trying to find purchase in the dirt but not quite getting a grip. He left marks in the soil, lines his claws forged as he was pushed back and finally his back hit a tree. He struggled to keep consciousness, but found it too hard and was finally knocked from the waking world into a fitful dreamless slumber. Goblet stopped the barrage of fire and flames, and the body it was holding up fell over. She then turned back to her friend Rainbow.

---

Rainbow nodded to Goblet before attempting to strike the Alakazam. She knew she was pushing her luck, but she had to try. Azailia called after her, telling her to be careful, and suddenly she felt time around her stop. She was floating in the air, and she couldn't move her wings! She struggled in mid-air, locking eyes with Goblet before the charmander was attacked harshly by the other charmander's Dragon Rage. She squeaked worriedly for her friend before she started worrying about herself once again.

The Alakazam showed no signs of tiring or resting, keeping up the psychic attack and holding his gaze to hers. She growled and hissed at the other, the psychic type not showing any change of emotions until he was suddenly thrust away by something tackling into him. The psychic type squealed with confusion as Rainbow was released from his psychic hold. Not questioning this sudden luck, she flew towards the Alakazam, screeching and attacking him with her wings. Wing Attack met its mark on the psychic types face, causing him to stumble and try to shy away from the assault to his features.

The object that had knocked him over avoided the next attacks. Rainbow recognized it as Azailia, and absentmindedly looked as she ran towards the guy, who looked surprised and quite fearful. She stopped focusing on that and kept her eyes on the prize, slapping the Alakazam in the face with her wings. However, she heard screeching and spitting and was blinded by a sudden flash of fire that made her stop to blink the small white bubbles out of her vision. That gave the Alakazam time to push her off and throw her against a tree with his psychic powers.

She hissed in pain as her shoulder blade hit the tree, and the Alakazam slid her body up and down the tree, making splinters stick into her fur. She bared her fangs at the small stabs of pain and toothpicks stuck into her skin just slightly so. The man who owned the Alakazam yelled for the pokemon to drop her and help him, and the other had no choice but to obey. He had a gleam in his eye that told Rainbow that he wanted revenge for getting tackled earlier. Rainbow fell to the ground in a heap of spitting and shaking in a vain attempt to shake off the splinters. Only a few managed to be wiggled free and fall to the floor, but Rainbow heard a grunt of frustration and looked on to see her owner get thrown off the other human by the Alakazam.

---

Azailia got right back up from being thrown across the field and ran back at the man, who barked orders at his Alakazam. Goblet scurried up to Rainbow and helped her up as they watched Azailia be picked up by the Alakazam's psychic powers and squished inward. It looked like some invisible force was trying to crumple her up like a piece of paper. Goblet charged forward, tail burning brightly with rage as she spat fire towards the ground by the Alakazam's feet. Rainbow bright up the rear, using Razor Wind to blow the embers towards the psychic type and enhance the flames by feeding them oxygen. The fire whipped up and wrapped around the wind, waving like a ribbon around and dancing among the organisms there. Azailia tackled the other human out of the way of the fire and flames, but the Alakazam was struck with wind and fire, the elemental beat-down just a tad too much for it. It fell to the ground and fainted as the attacks faded away.

Azailia breathed heavily as she sat up, on a bit of an adrenaline rush from the previous chain of events. Jeremy, however, stayed lying down, bug-eyed and gasping for air. He looked like a Deerling in headlights, the very thought made Azailia want to laugh. However, she instead put her boot to his face with enough force to show him she could hurt him, but not enough to actually so harm. "What are you scum of the earth doing here? I thought I ran you outta town." Azailia adjusted her hat, her drawl starting to become more prominent because of her slight anger. Jared struggled under her and sputtered, "I was just doing my job! Cali will have my hide if I don't give her something to show for my efforts-!" Azailia grunted loudly, which quieted him down.

On one hand, this man was a villain and she wanted to hand him to the police or even get him to lead her to Cali so she could bust the both of them. On the other hand, he was pitiful garbage who needed serious help and she was one of the few that tolerated him to her knowledge. She sighed. "Okay, I am going to do you a small favor. Consider it charity. My good deed for the day. I am going to set you straight and then send you to Cali with a new pokemon, BUT" She clenched her jaw and bared her sharper-than-an-average-rancher's teeth at him, making whatever words on his tongue die, "they will not be stolen. They will be caught from the wild, and no one will be the wiser as long as you keep that our little secret." Jared nodded slowly and she lifted her boot before helping him up and grabbing the back of his shirt. "Okay, now let;s get hunting." Azailia whistled, calling back Goblet and Rainbow. "I need you two to help me okay? Goblet, I need you to go home and tell everyone I will be a bit late. Rainbow, we shall get going and get this man a proper pokemon."

Goblet scowled at Azailia before running back towards the ranch. Rainbow settled on top of Azailia's head, hissing at Jared, who coiled himself as far away from her as he could. "Don't worry, my pokemon are well trained unlike yours. Mine attack only on command or if you try to hurt me." She then dragged him further into the forest. He barely had enough time to put his pokemon back in their pokeballs before he was being smacked in the face by tree branches and falling fruits and nuts struck his head. Azailia grinned at his dismay, not feeling the least bit sorry for his out-of-touchness with nature. He should take walks more often. "Okay, now once we see a strong pokemon, it'll be up to Rainbow to knock it out and you to bring out a pokeball and nab it. Understood?" Jared nodded his head and she suddenly stopped and stayed stock still, occasionally moving her head slightly to look around her. Rainbow growled and roared as suddenly they were being assaulted by a marred Scyther with one eye.

It slashed at them, and Azailia was nicked on the arm. her jacket now had a small cut in it, and she was bleeding just a tad from the short laceration that graced her pale skin. "Argh, Rainbow, git 'em!" She drawled. Instantly the small canine-bat screeched loudly to paralyze the Grovyle for a few seconds and used Feint Attack against the other. He was moved back, but used his leaves to slash at Rainbow. She attempted to ask why he was acting so aggressive, but he refused to talk to her at all. Fine, if he wanted to be cryptic and pugnacious, then he would get a worthy opponent. She snarled as she was hit savagely hit by one of the blades and defended as best as she could while feeling the heat in her belly coil. She let loose a small Will-O-Wisp attack, effectively having the small purple flames circle and burn the Grovyle into submission. It didn't last long though, as even burned, he was back on his feet.

The big pokemon shook off his pain and slashed at the smaller pokemon, who was agile, but surprised enough to be hit. Rainbow fell to the ground with a small gash in her flank, and the Grovyle raised his razor-sharp leaves to finish her off, but she wasn't over yet. She spat Embers on his face, leaving him hissing, and then blew a Fire Spin attack at him to keep him in place. Confused at how powerful such a small creature was, he looked all around for a break in the flames big enough to jump out of, but found no such thing. Rainbow kept up the attack until the heat made the other feel dizzy enough to sway into the flames and scorch his tail leaves. He howled in pain and Rainbow headbutted him one last time to knock him down. He fell to the floor, dizzy and hurt. Azailia nudged Jared with her elbow, the other had been so entranced by the battle that he had nearly forgotten why they were there. "Right-!" He sputtered as he threw a pokeball. It bounced off the Grovyle, opening and encasing the body with white light.

Rainbow jumped out of the way as the pokeball fell to the floor with the Grovyle inside, wiggling side to side in a small internal struggle that Azailia wish she could see one day. After a while, it finally clicked, signaling a successful capture. "Well well well, it seems we caught ourselves one rowdy Grovyle. I bet he ain't happy about being captured, but that's your problem now-" Jared gulped and didn't even noticed as she got up and walked off with Rainbow following her. He started sweating nervously and then finally realized he was alone. He sure hoped that Cali wouldn't be upset if they had a rogue Grovyle that may or may not be dangerous to have. He also hoped internally that she would never find out about how he messed up and got caught by that rancher.
