Interesting, but really, what is the rational motivation of the villain?
I say if it's cool, but because doing so, magic frankly ceases to be used a lot to reach the space age of a race, besides science is more powerful in military and production issues, otherwise I don't see the point in this crusade.
I say it is illogical to want to destroy one of the raw forces of the cosmos for not believing something irrational.
That does not mean that this villain is a faulty artificial intelligence or just very silly? I hope if an explanation is possible.
