i ended up really liking this the way it was. i'd initially considered going further with lighting, etc, but now that i look at it, i feel that'd take from what i've created there.and yeah i realise im using fucking tiny canvas's and should consider expanding.. but im still breaking into this so i guess im sticking to safe small sizes as is my pathetic want. i'm getting there though!

I don't know if you're looking for this sort of commentary, but it helps to watch out for hand size in proportion to other body parts. For instance, here they look a bit small even when compared to the neck.
Granted, the hands are REALLY well-defined otherwise (to the point where i'm jealous and wondering if you referenced that up or not) and this piece is awesome in general, but I guess I'm just too much of a hard-ass. : P

hehe you'll find i rarely ever go out of my way for proportions, in fact, often times i'll accentuate them, but that is true, and in this case i did want a more correct size, 
- i just love hands though, on that note. i find them one of the more beautiful and expressive parts of the body, and love drawing them. im glad you enjoyed them

ah, I've found that if you're going down the exagerrated proportions route, hands tend to look cooler when they're all enlarged and with creepily slender fingers. It's trickier to make them work when they are smaller.
