i like the idea of them having tail feathers And reg horse tails, just fun

Fluttershy is a tall lady, despite the assumptions others have about her possessing some unicorn ancestry, its actually earth pony. (evidenced by her eyes matching her hooves, an earth pony trait) Though with a somewhat lithe frame, she's sturdier and heavier than she looks; which explains her large wings and broader tail feathers to support her flight.
Because she spends almost all of her time on the ground, she lets her hoof feathers grow out. She believes it completes her nature spirit Look(tm)

Rainbow Dash is the 2nd smallest of the 6, but her and applejack mostly tie for being the most fit of the group. Training (and maintaining) to be a Wonderbolt is not joke, and RD has some lean muscle on her from working out. Her wings, while somewhat on the smaller end of the spectrum, are streamlined for speed. Which, ofc, fancies her just fine.
She keeps herself very clean cut and low maintenance, so; no hoof feathers, more of a mohawk-esque back mane so she doesn't have to brush it, and a shorter tail. The bangs gotta stay tho.
