"I'm so glad that he has a big sister who loves him. Hopefully she'll always look out for him."I for one, liked "Flutter Butter" a lot. I have a *lot* of siblings, I could empathize with Fluttershy, I could empathize with her parents, I could empathize with Zephyr Breeze. I have been in the position of kicking siblings in the rear end to get them back on their feet, and *ahem* at times I have needed a kick in the nether regions. Though I like to think that I wasn't as bad as Zephyr Breeze, or so I tell myself. Not having a job and mooching off parents isn't something which I suffered from, but running away from challenges and giving up after failure is something which has happened before.
Β Even though some people found Zephyr Breeze intolerable I found his over the top antics funny since he was the butt end of jokes. In my opinion, annoying characters can be lovable, if only they get their just deserts. I would love for Zephyr Breeze to return in a future episode and get a few more lightening bolts in the face.
IMO filly Fluttershy is defiantly a Princess Cadance fan. Like most fillies she was all over the newest princess and neglected the classics, Celestia and the almost-mythical Luna.

To this day, I still wonder why Fluttershy's family wasn't introduced much earlier in the show. They never even gave us at least a small glimpse of them in her flashback in "Cutie Mark Chronicles". π
Then again, same goes to Rainbow Dash and Applejack...

I'd like Zephyr Breeze to return but not so that he can be tortured by the fans. I'd like him to come back completely redeemed like the end of the episode left him.

Oh my goodness, this is very precious. I love it. And I'm not just talking about filly Flutter.
About the episode, it wasn't just about Zephyr, but the good message behind. It seems a lot forgot about it, full of loathing about Zeph. He is not a bad guy. Just too full of himself. No wonder Zephyr X Dash exist. But why? They constantly think about themselves, not the other.
Awesome work. But, why Mr Shy has a blue mane instead of a more reddish one?

Thanks for the kind words! Yes I agree with you completely, a lot of people focus on Zephyr hate and miss the main message of the episode.
And your right about Mr. Shy's mane, this is my fault for seeing the episode in crappy resolution. I was reading his mane as gray from old age, and (for some odd reason) from that I went to slightly blue, but it's really reddish gray. Young Mr. Shy's hair would probably be closer to Fluttershy's hair color. Oh well, maybe next time. We can just pretend he dyed his hair blue when he was younger. It was a mid life crisis.

I loved how they managed to make her parents even more timid than she is.Β Also, I have a little headcanon where Flutterdad helped Rainbow Dash land her weather pony job while she worked towards being a wonderbolt.

That's a good idea, Rainbow Dash probably relied on Mr. Shy for a good reference. I liked how close Dash is to Fluttershy's family.

I remember that. They showed a little peek at her dad, but they didn't really show her dad'sΒ character. I want a full blown Dash family episode, dagnabbit!
I would love to see more young Dash, IMO that was one of the best things about the season 5 finale. Personally I would enjoy a memory episode about some filly Dash adventure or incident. Now that Dash is a world famous wonderbolt sports fan ponies would want to know her life story, so there is even a good reason for this type of episode.Β Besides showing her family we could also get to see more Cloudsdale too.

You did a wonderful job on the children, especially that doting big sister. She looks so darned happy to keep her little brother amused. Their adoring parents are quite wonderful too, so natural as they take a break from their own activities. Lovely work on the cloudy house too. I guess a love of ground animals was instilled in Fluttershy subtly from a young age, judging by the decorations. Also very cute work on the princesses, though it's sad to see Luna (well, Nightmare Moon at the time) knocked over. Great job. Now I can't wait to see the episode.

And poor Luna, indeed! I wonder if she was the token villain doll in many households? If ponies remembered her at all, that is.
The episode seems to be something of a "love it or hate it" type of thing. I liked it and I know a lot of other people did, but there are a lot of people who dislike it too.
