Description Something of a Speedpaint I started following soon after the BP/Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill last year ([link] . I managed to reach a stalemate in the painting process and it managed to get buried under a mountain of files. I felt bad leaving this one unfinished, so decided to finish it up recently in an effort to try and get back into my painting groove.

The idea is simple, the worst of the damage done will not always be immediately visible..

Stunning! Β If there were truth in advertising; this would be the BP logo. Β Richard

Oh my God.Β  I wish this had a critique section . . .
Darling, this is absolutely beautiful.Β  I mean truly, a very, very beautiful death.Β  Each feather seems to be detailed, the anatomy is spot on, even the expression is realistic and yet amazingly emotional.Β  I love the look of the sheet/towel underneath the gull as it has texture and the shading of the folds and ripples is also very realistic.Β  Actually, the whole background for this piece is excellently detailed yet doesn't distract from the bird or the blood.
Speaking of the blood, it looks amazing.Β  The light effects, the way it pools, mixes with the oil, is bubbling in some places, and looks to be congealing in small streams is just breath-taking.Β  The whole thing has an air of drama about it--something wonderful and indescribable that makes me fall in love with this piece as well as the message it's trying to get across.
Very, very, very well done.

The idea is amazing, so as the painting itself.

Awww fantastic painting but heartbreaking. The majority of animals die from the stress of the oil or indirect internal damage. Much like your painting, very sad.

You know, this painting appeared around a week after I started working on my "Destruction of Nature", and I was quite moved by the timing. I've always believed that certain ideas, the purest ones, were shared by all, and I think this is one of those. The documentaries I have watched over the last little while have filled me with such fury about the callousness of people...but at the same time, I believe this painting evokes the true nature of it. It's so fleeting and hard to capture; I think you've gone beyond beauty with this piece. You've captured the true feeling of fragility, coldness, finality... within a perfect composition. Thank you so much for sharing this, for always relaying kind words to me, for always capturing the beauty that you see and melding it together into a gorgeous singular moment that speaks more than words could ever say. <3

Such strong visualisation.... I always feel necessity for us (as a community) of having more of those "social artworks" that are holding a conversation with viewers. I really wish I could see more of thoughtful art, like this, nowadays. You've created truly terrific work... (I'm sorry about my english)

I would very much like to welcome you as a member if you are interested in joining. Please do check out my group so that you would know what it is like!

The good news is, if the Republican Party has its way and gets enough elected officials in Washington, we can look forward to more of this kind of thing. Toothless as it has become, the first thing on their agenda is getting rid of the E.P.A. altogether, to "unshackle" industry.

As I am [not so] fond of saying, "Welcome to Geidi Prime."

Nice piece, by the way. Totally get it.
