I am not sure what she is exactly..perhaps a mix between a lemur and a marmoset..likely more the latter just because for some reason when I saw one at the portland zoo, I feel in love. They seemed so...caffeinated and full of mischief beans XD. I can certainly imagine Balaa that way
. Anyway 3 uploads in one day, entirely too much..my apologies folks. I spent entirely too much time on this..fleh. What can I say I was bored last night, needed some time away from working on commissions and had no one else to annoy(even the cat was hidden on account of the fireworks). So I took it out on my art...the world shall quiver in the wake of PYGMY BALAA!!!

The eyes... THE EYES! They are just gorgeous O_o Shiny
In fact, I love the chibi-ness of this picture. The big head with the exceptionally large eyes are incredibly adorable, and I just want to pet your pygmy self n_n
I also like the fur. You have drawn it in such a vivid (right word?) way and it seems to me, like it is very soft and silky. You have done a great job when it comes to shading, and I like the way the colors of the background are reflected in the character's fur n_n

I was noting the sketch and thinking she looked mousy, not the sort of uber cool Balaa I'm used to. But I figure now, seeing the finished version, that I just couldn't make sense of her without the color. I can't really think of what this reminds me of, which is a good thing, but I see these kinds of forest critters jumping around crazily in my dream worlds. I really think you nailed the description up there with cafeinated and full of mischief beans.
Those eyes and ears are just the cutest, and this approaches Sacchirine cute. You know, the dangerous kind of sweet. *s*
