Thank you so much Agnelica for taking the time to write this and thanks for all the nice things you had to say about the pic. I think you are right about the need for some more dark values in some places. I will have another look at it and see what I can do later on. I don't want my paintings to look 'to' perfect. I want to hint that it is done by hand and not a 3d rendering or a photo manip.

Whoa man, I don't even know what to say this time around. I'm not sure of whether or not you used a sketch for this piece, but I think you captured all of the important elements in your painting.
I say this for a reason, because I noticed that you skipped things like the fly-a-way hairs on her face. Wise move my friend, because I've seen many artists try to grab all the details and mess up what could've been a nice picture. Sometimes less is more e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

There really isn't much I an say about this, because I think you did everything perfectly :0. Not to mention this was a study, so I hope you learned something useful while doing this.
The only thing I think I should mention though, is the background. Looking at the reference picture, I wonder if maybe a soft gradient going from the top left corner to the bottom right one would've been better? I say this, because I find that with the background you chose, the tree branch from the reference photo looks a little distracting. And as a small nit-pick, if you look at the models hair, you can notice a little un-evenness on the right side of the background. Although I think a quick brush stroke could easily fix that e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Anyway, great picture, and thanks again for the critique practice!

This face is lovely. It doesn't look digital at all. It look like you've done it in acrylics.

Lovely. Jag gillar hur du fΓ₯ngat hennes osΓ€kra, nΓ₯got ledsna, uttryck. Gillar ocksΓ₯ texturen pΓ₯ det hela; lite smΓ₯grovt och grynigt sΓ₯dΓ€r... Det passar verkligen portrΓ€ttet.
