Description The north side of Regio Theatre, in Turin.

This theatre, originally built in 1740 by the famous architect Filippo Juvarra (see also Superga ), is the most ancient and prestigious in the city. Seriously damaged by a fire in 1936 and by bombs during the World War II, it was subsequently rebuilt in 1945.

It hosts all the major classical music and opera concerts, plus, sometimes, pop and jazz stars. For example, Luciano Pavarotti, Keith Jarrett, Laurie Anderson, Robert Fripp, Brad Meldhau and Stefano Bollani happened to perform here.

The picture has three visual layers: the first one is the glass facade itself and the second one is the reflected building, the State Archive.
The third and less obvious layer is the silohuette of the internal stairs, created by the sun, peeking through the large windows of the south side of the theatre.

Full view recommended. Thanks for viewing.

Twelfth image in my "Turin " series. Please see the complete series .

thanks
this is all about reflections and transparencies... too many times we see only reflections and don't catch what lies behind...
