Used to rent Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis games all the time over at Blockbuster and Hollywood, seeing candy and occasionally hearing "Always Coca-Coca" on the TVs. Helped big time living as an Army family in a crappy little town. Oh the memories...

Man, I miss going to video stores, buying and or renting the one movie you find of all the movies. New hits, old classics, weird off the wall b-rated horror/action.Β
And video games. Renting N64 games was soo fun back when I was a kid.

Such wonderful memories. Mine was a nice little local owned place, it even smelled welcoming. (I know how weird that sounds)

Nice! Same here. The locally owned ones had such a nice charm to them. Dirty carpeting, those black bumpy plastic video tape cases, returning the movies through the mail slot on the door... sigh.

I remember those days when you had to actually go to the video rental shops and physically search for movies and stuff...Now we have Redbox and Netflix. Β It sort of takes something away from the whole process. Β Back then, it was sort of a fun/special event just to go to the rental place. Β Ah, progress....

Oh man I remember going to the video store and renting a game for a console I didn't even own, utter disappointment and epic fail. Along with the super secret "back room" they had for all the adult movies.

I nearly didn't care back then I hate to admit, perhaps simply because I wasn't a committed gamer, but my youth was wasted on the Atari, the Odyssey2, the Intellivision and the ColecoVision!

In the late 80's, I wanted the Amiga 500 so damn much, my mom gave me a crappy Atari 8-bit instead. Β
To this day I still feel jealous I never had one. Β Eric Schwartz did a lot of killer stuff on them!
