Ace kicked down the kickstand of the stolen bike. Buns looked over his shoulder,"Now that ah can heard m'self again...this ain't your bike?"

Ace smirked at her,"Well, it wasn't before, but I might as well keep it."

Buns looked up at the church they were in front of,"What the hoo haw are we doin' here?"

Ace dismounted the bike and smirked, closing his eyes halfway,"Info's at a premium you know."

Buns dismounted and tried her hardest not to look a little shaken by his toothy grin,"Uh, huh, an' just what pray tell is that?"

Ace puckered her lips with one hand and put his finger to them. Buns shoved past him,"Pass."

Ace grinned and followed behind her,"You're no fun."

Buns looked back at him,"That's a matter've opinion fella."

"Fella now is it? Oh what's a poor fella to do? You keep leading me on! How will I know what is right and-"

Buns elbowed him in his ribs,"Cut it out."

Ace laughed,"Fine, fine...for now."

Buns stopped in front of the door to the church and looked him in the eyes,"Now, what are we doing here? None of that info at a premium shit."

Ace smirked,"We're visiting my sister."

Buns raised a brow, "Uh huh."

"See, cause she's a nun-"

"Ah got the fucking joke." Buns snapped.

Ace stepped past her and opened the door to the church,"You didn't think I went to church?"

"A killer doesn't seem like the type to believe in anything religious."

Ace grinned and tilted his head to the side slowly,"Surely you jest, after all, who needs it more than a sinner?"

"You're twisted." she smirked.

"You know you love it." he smirked back.

"Welcome to St. Aurora's church my children!" a voice piped up from behind Ace.

Ace spun around,"Hey, sis. How's the house? You sure I can't come in in a devil costume and hiss at people?"

The hedgehog nun crossed her arms and shook her head,"No, Ace."

Ace spun around stepping to his sister's side,"Where are my manners, this is my sister, Veejay."

Veejay smirked,"See, cause I'm a-"

Buns facepalmed,"Ah. Get. The. Joke."

Veejay took Buns hand,"Pleasure to meet you my child. You must be Ace's girlfriend, he's told me so much about you."

Buns looked to Ace,"Girlfriend?"

Ace smirked,"You agreed to the deal, Bunsey."

Buns hoisted Ace off the ground by the back of his coat,"Ya ever call me that again-"

Ace looked to Buns,"You certainly know how to sweep a guy off his feet."

Veejay piped up,"WELL THEN! Shall we go to the back?"

Ace looked to his sister,"Sure, lead the way, I'm a bit up in the air about this right now."

Veejay turned around walking down the middle of the pews, Buns following, Ace in tow. They entered into the back room of the church.

Buns plopped Ace down on the floor,"Now behave."

Ace looked at her,"Arf arf."

Veejay rolled her eyes,"Children."

She pressed a stone in the wall and a secret passway was revealed, she stepped down into the hallway,"Follow me then."

Ace followed after,"C'mon, girl, you don't want to get left behind do you?"

Buns followed, more confused than ever now. Downstairs was a variety of people at computers and other workers. Veejay removed the head covering of her clothing, revealing several metal bands that held her quills back in dreadlock like fashions,"Goddamn that shit gets annoying!"

Buns' eyes went wide,"The fuck didja say?"

Veejay spun around crossing her arms,"You heard me. Alright, Ace, we got a job for you."

Ace clapped his hands,"Eee!"

Veejay pressed a button on a table, an image showed on the table, a high ranking government official. A well dressed pig, suit and tie.

Veejay looked at the image,"This fat bastard is Hamlin. He's on the Acorn council. Our client has paid good money to have him killed."

Ace looked at his fingers and at the image,"They want me to stuff a stick up his ass and an apple in his mouth too?"

Veejay smirked,"No preferences this time, but go ahead, that sounds like a laugh."

Ace smirked, pulling a knife from his side,"Pork chops it is then."

Veejay turned off the screen,"That's all for now. We've sent any other information to your cell mail."

"Got it, makin' bacon." he smiled wide and turned and started walking away with Buns.

"Base!" Veejay shouted after him.

Ace turned,"....what?" he said, he sounded almost sane.

Veejay looked to Buns, then back to Ace,"Be careful, be discreet."

Ace smirked,"Sis, you know me, I'm fucking indestructable."

"That thinking's what worries me." she said solemnly.

Ace and Buns walked up the stairs, the passageway wall closing behind them. Buns looked at Ace,"...Base?"

Ace looked away from her,"Sis raised me for the most part. I was found in a old abandoned facility in the Forbidden Zone. She named me Base, a joke about where she found me."

"So, how's the name Ace come about?"

Ace held up an ace of diamonds,"Its a nick."

"So...this church is a front?"

"Not entirely. Let's get going." Ace said turning and walking out, Buns following behind him.

"But yeah, Forbidden Zone, found by sis, raised by sis. I owe her everything, so I help her organization out, and in return she takes care of me. Food, place to sleep, doesn't kill me for my jokes. That sort of thing. This church isn't a front, it's just a bit more...hands on about helping people."

Buns looked at Ace,"How so?"

"My new target, this Hamlin guy, I already know a bit about him, I knew he'd be a target someday. This place takes jobs of revenge. Retribution and such, obviously this Hamlin porker has probably stepped on more than a few toes, I know one of his business partners committed suicide cause he drove them to bankruptcy to fill his own pocket, hell, my client could be the wife of the deceased for all I know."

Buns looked at Ace,"You...you have layers, you're not so black and white as being just fucking nuts are you?"

Ace looked at her, sanity in his eyes,"Congratulations, you and sis are the only ones to figure that out."

Buns felt a thumping in her chest, she looked at him, stopping by a confessional,"One sec, Ah think Ah need to confess."

Ace stood still as she opened the door,"Go ahead, I'll wait."

Buns looked in, no one was there, she smirked, turned around and hauled Ace into the booth with her, locking it behind her. She threw her arms over his shoulders and kissed him hard on the lips. Ace's arms wrapped around her waist and held her to him.

The kiss ended, Buns put her finger to his lips,"Ah confess...Ah'm givin' in to temptation."

Ace smirked,"Well it was just a matter of time."

Whiiiiiile this story bit may have been fun to write, it's not guaranteed canon as of right yet.

I kinda put my noggin to work wondering about how Ace and Veejay's counterpart would be. While on the one hand Veejay is sort of a lone wolf leader in the world where Base comes from, here she's part of an intel network where there is no one true leader, she's less of a fighter and more of a puppet master here as well.

So, I did take some liberty writing that up, which is why this isn't set in stone just yet, cause that story bit doesn't get the green light without sis' say so, cause that is her character, not mine. Hopefully all is well. Otherwise this is getting a rewrite.
