Description
Sometimes when I draw an image, I imagine that it'd look good inked. Sometimes when I draw an image in pencil, I lose myself in drawing it and realize I could only harm it by trying to ink it.

It's 5:30am here and I've been working on this image a half hour.

Yes, there is a little story segment, don't worry, this is just sorta a break from my other projects, trying not to burn myself out.

Warning, strong language and sexual themes ahead.

Ace's eyes opened slowly, daylight poured in through the window, he heard the window slam shut, a few noises like metal bumping glass, and a few crashing noises. He looked to the window, his eyes adjusting slowly to the light.

"Mornin' handsome. Heard you got thrashed, nurse said visitin' hours weren't for another two hours, so I let m'self in."

He smiled recognizing the voice, medication pumping through his system, he was weak and groggy,"Heyyyy beautiful, come't take...ugh...advantage of me in m'weakened state? Oh what'm I t'do?"

He smiled weakly. She hopped down off the nightstand she sat on, she slowly moved over to the bedside and leaned over him, making sure to push her chest out,"How ya feelin' now, sugah?"

Ace's eyes looked straight up into hers and didn't deviate from her eyes, he blinked a few times,"Whatcha do t'yer hair?"

Buns looked angrily at him,"What of it?"

"Looks great, babe!" he grinned,"Short hair works fer ya nice."

She put her finger to his nose,"Now ah know yer messed up, your compliments are usually better'n that."

Ace licked her finger,"Muahaha, all part of my diabolical scheme m'dear. Soon you'll drop your guard and the meds'll wear off, and I'll spring from this bed atcha."

Buns grinned standing up and walking over to the nightstand she was on before and leant over it, making sure to raise he rear in the air,"Ah'll just bet, ah'll also bet this's killin' ya."

The doorknob turned and the door opened, Ace and Buns heads turned towards the door, to see Ace's sister Veejay. Veejay's hand was firm on the knob, her brow raised at the sight in the room,"I've heard of alternative treatments but I don't think he's well enough for being nursed back to health just yet."

Buns colored quickly, frozen in position, staring wide eyed at Veejay. Ace started laughing hard, until pain shot up through his lungs, he winced and settled back into the bed with a soft chuckle.

"Oh gods, ladies, this's better'n stand up, especially since I ain't standing."

Veejay closed the door behind her, walking to a seat that was near the bed, the same seat she had occupied each day, early before visiting hours, until visiting hours were over. Ace had always been her responsibility, and each time he'd been injured during a mission, she stayed by his side each day until he healed.

"How are you feeling today, Base?"

Ace sunk in his bed,"Sis-"

"I only use your full name when I'm worried, you can grant me that, even if you hate the name."

"Makes me sound like a radio dial." he sulked.

Veejay shook her head and patted his forehead,"Sister Mary made some of her vegetable bead soup." she said holding up a lidded tuppaware.

Ace grinned,"Oh good, hurts'ta talk, let alone chew."

Buns sniffed the air,"Whuzzat smell?"

Veejay looked up, a devious grin on her face,"Chicken."

Buns' eyes widened,"REAL chicken?"

Veejay closed her eyes halfway, smirking slyly,"You think his teeth are sharp cause he learned to eat vegetables? When he was a child he survived by killing his food. Not many vegetables in the Forbidden Zone for a child on his own."

Buns looked at Ace, Ace smiled at her, that beartrap smile, it looked vicious to most, but to her and Veejay, it was as warm a smile he could give. Veejay placed down the tuppaware and opened the lid.

Ace's good arm slowly reached out from under the blanket on the bed and grabbed the bowl, he put the edge to his mouth and slowly leant his head back, gulping the soup down greedily, Buns silently wondered when he ate last.

Ace placed the bowl on the counter and sighed contently. Veejay took a napkin from her sleeve and wiped his mouth,"You're as much a little pig as you were when you were a child, brother."

Ace belched loudly,"Guilty."

Veejay stood and tucked the napkin back into her sleeve,"Buns, please follow me into the hall a moment."

"Why?"

Veejay glared at her, without a word, Buns complied and walked past her quickly into the hallway. Veejay smiled at Ace,"One moment, we'll be back."

Ace rolled his eyes,"I'll do my best not t'go anywhere."

Veejay walked into the hallway, closing the door softly behind her, she turned to Buns and inhaled,"I know all about you and Ace's relationship, Buns."

"That's a hell of an openin' line." Buns said crossing her arms.

"I also know your gang attacked Ace when he was very little."

Buns looked away, Veejay silently acknowledged Buns knew who Ace was, what they'd done to him then,"You know, don't you?"

"Yeah, Ah know." Buns looked away, she couldn't look into Veejay's eyes,"Ah know who he was, I know what we did. It' no excuse but...I just always did like the others to belong y'know?"

Veejay cracked her neck and stepped closer to Buns,"Exactly how MUCH have you done to just belong to that gang of cretins?"

Buns winced and closed her eyes,"Ah've done things...things that...listen Ah'm not gonna say I'm a good woman, that mah body ain't been used to get what I want, that I haven't just used it as a tool...Ace was...the first I've given it to, and wanted to."

Veejay reached out and grabbed Buns by her jaw and made her look into her eyes, Veejay's eyes were blood red, and dead serious,"Then you know that if you do anything to hurt him, at all, or if your gang does anything to hurt him...I will come down on your little group like the wrath of the fucking gods. There will be nowhere you can run and nowhere you can fucking hide. Are we clear?!"

Buns nodded the best she could with Veejay's grip on her chin. Veejay let go.

Buns rubbed her jaw with her hand,"Sonic still holds a grudge on him for what he did that day."

"Does Sonic know about him then?"

Buns closed her eyes,"No, if Ah told him he'd come lookin'."

Veejay turned towards the door, her hand resting on the knob,"Ace doesn't remember anyone from your group but Sonic. That's a second chance you got, don't waste it."

Buns lowered her head, she said nothing. Veejay turned back to her,"Exactly how much longer are you planning on using your body to keep you in your little gang?"

Buns looked at Veejay shocked,"How'd you-?"

Veejay glared into Buns' eyes,"I can SMELL him on you. It smells like garbage and sweaty socks. Now, how much longer do you plan to CHEAT on my little brother to belong to that gang?!"

Buns looked everywhere but Veejay's eyes,"Ah don't...Ah mean-"

Veejay turned away from her and grabbed the doorknob,"Save it. If I can smell Sonic on you, Ace can smell the past five times he was on you. He knows, too."

Veejay opened the door and stepped back into the room, closing the door gently behind her. Buns stood in the hallway, the shock and fear setting into her now. She felt a chill up her spin, she hugged herself. Ace knew? Why was he staying silent?

She did have one answer though; she knew how all this made her feel. She felt too awful to reenter Ace's room, and slowly made her way down the hallway. Maybe she'd return later, or maybe she'd just come by the next day.
