LOL! Was trying to go for some kind of soft focus like your profile pix but I couldn't make it work... So, I went with what I had!

you know the best way to do soft focus is to take a picture, duplicate it, lower the opacity to about 45%, then apply a blur filter to it. This will result in a soft focus, like this: [link]

By converting the layer to a smart object before you apply the filter, you can do non-destructive filtering, so that after you apply a filter you can actually go back and change the settings on the fly.

Messing around with the blur amount and the opacity will give you different levels of intensity

ahh,my pics were put threw the "Gimp"program,i added "soft light",digitally colored my eyes a lighter brown.and the photo was taken in a brightly lit room. yours looks great,i was just using a low end camera at the time,i think it doubled as a camcorder as well.

yeah,it's free! some neat effects,and editing tools.you can also find many free downloadable brushes right here on DA,alot of gimp users,that know more about how to do such things! XD:
