That's a really great shot for an F/4.0!

Thanks so much! I can really tell a difference with my new camera, I'm liking it a lot!

I know how you feel. I recently got into concert photography and upgraded my camera and lenses. The difference is phenomenal!
I think i've got one more lens to buy and then i'm set for a while. Of course, i've been saying that for a year too.

Keep it up!

LOL! And it never ends... Now I want a 2x extender for the "way back" shots!

Rules are kinda different over here in Dublin. If you're in the audience, no SLR's allowed. One is lucky if we can get away with a bridge camera in the audience.

I'd spend my way into oblivion on lenses if that wasn't the case though.

Actually, they're not allowed here either... Most of those shots were done from the photo pit with a pass as I shoot for some radio stations here. Although I think that anything that could be termed "point and shoot" is allowed as long as it doesn't have interchangeable lenses.

I'm trying to get more gigs, but a lot of promoters aren't giving me the light of day. One guy's been really cool though and he promotes a lot of rock and metal events, and has been throwing me a few bones the past month. But the bigger venue guys just ignore me unfortunately.

Best thing to do is to get hooked up with a website with a lot of traffic, that the labels and promoters know about... Offer to shoot for them for free until people get to know you and you build some credibility... Once that gets going it just starts rolling along...

Set up a site last month, trying to get traffic to it. I've mailed the promoters, no joy. Linked them to my site etc.

It's a long slog, and i've almost been on the verge of just quitting and seeing it as a dead end.

Honestly, your own site likely won't cut it... Offer your services to an existing site, newspaper or something that already has a ton of traffic and credibility...

Offered to a couple of sites, but nobody's biting. Might look up more that's similar though.
Cheers for the tips
