Getting there! I put his body in for a junk cast today. I need to do a mother mold, then I can do a cast. I used Oomoo, which is cheap but not real strong silicone. I just wanted to get a reference cast so that when I cut up his body I'm not losing size. When you cut up the body for jointing you can lose up to half an inch of doll or so, just from cutting and shaping. But you'll never know unless you remember exactly what the original looked like(just measuring doesn't seem to work for me).waaaaaaaah!~

Ooooh, he is turning out really well! I'm always astonished by the amount of realistic detail you achieve in your pieces, all the little musculature that looks so real... I'm loving the hipbones especially!

time since i made his skeleton? Over six months. Time actually sculpting(not counting drying time or periods wehre i didn't have time to work on him) probably about two months. I think i've bulked him up and slimmed him down about twice now before I found what worked for me.

No doubt about that, but you've been doing solid work for a while. Sometimes you reach those rungs though, and nothing beats it.

You mean a human sized one? If I was still in college as a sculpture student, i'd do it... but it'd be a ooak. Now that i'm out of college i don't have the studio space to do something like that. THere were a few places that had life sized BJDs for sale, they were about $6000 and five feet tall. They were resin cast, just like the smaller dolls, not latex/silicon like the real doll things.
