Wheel Mod Fail
I spotted this in a Frisch's Big Boy parking lot by the Ohio River, and I had to take a picture.
The spare wheel/tire combo probably cost more than my whole truck, yet it only serves to make this Land Rover look silly. It just goes to show, money can't buy taste.Related content

it's true, money really can't buy taste. Taste only comes from whithin, which is the only place it will ever come from. Funny pic, BTW!

Still don't understand why people think that truck is so wonderful.. it looks like a overrated Fugly POS, but that's just MHO.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it's fun to stick it to the $8000 camera snobs by taking a relatively popular picture with my camera phone. On the other hand, this pic is more popular than some of my drawings and writings in which I have dozens of hours invested, which is a little discouraging in a way.
Look at it this way; I noticed something funny, chose the optimum angle to capture the mismatched wheels, framed the shot for a pleasing composition and background, and came up with a funny caption to go with it. If a few lines of Haiku can be considered art, why not a demotivational poster?

Doubtlessly photography is a form of art, but it's not "mouse art," which both the groups which stuck this in my queue purport to exclusively exhibit. Nor is it abstract, particularly colorful, or by any means a drawing, to cite a few other things I saw in that big heap just now.

I think hes a group addict, he sends his deviations into hundreds of groups that may or may not relate to the deviations he submits leaving it to the group admins to sort out if it belongs, and since many groups are auto approve, It can get into some groups it probably doesent belong.

I suppose that much is apparent! I'd rather have him admit it, though. I've been frustrated with inability to get exposure on deviant-art plenty, but this ruse just seems dirty.

That's what I was figuring. But you still have to figure
a) They're buying and installing one wheel at a time, instead of waiting until they can afford a complete set like a sensible person.
b) I took this picture at dinner time at a restaurant. So they bought all the wheels, but they're so mechanically inept that they only managed to change the spare before calling it a day and going for dinner.
c) They bought all the wheels and changed the spare, and then noticed they absentmindedly forgot to buy a jack to change the other wheels.
The last possibility is the only one that doesn't make the owner seem like a total doofus, and somehow it doesn't seem very likely.

It's fun to guess what inspired this situation but either way, it looks silly. Makes me want to cut out a square in the hood of my Saturn so people think I either had a supercharger or plan on putting one in. That would be hilarious! Almost as silly as this situation.

Maybe he's just rollin' his winter rims/tires. I know my Accord looks funny with the winter gear but I can't afford 2k rims for Winter. This does look pretty stupid tho.

I doubt it. I actually took this pic a few weeks ago in September. Also, if they changed their wheels to protect them from the winter weather, you'd think they'd change the spare to keep it protected from the elements too, and so they'd have a spare that's the right size in case they need it.
