During the night time, breath and smell of sweat of grazing herbivores attract insects (first of all - mosquitos), and they, in turn, may attract bats. In late Miocene, couple of serotines (Eptesicus campanensis) forage over the horse Hippotherium, grazing on the riverine meadow.
