The giraffe is caught by surprise, leaps to flee, but too late. Something about the back feet implies the cat had been lying in wait. There is power in this, in the fear in the giraffe's eyes, the fleeing bird, the clouds of dust on the ground.
A question; what is this cat's methodology in attack, it appears to hunt like a leopard considering its bulk, but doesn't dwell in trees (the tail's too short for max balance). I'd like to know how tall the grass was, because the cat doesn't appear to have done much running.
Second, is this from a photo, a display, or off your head? (the earlier ink work, I mean)

Its from my head, but of cause I had look through several illustratons of these animals.
However, sabertooth on this picture is not perfect, to my mind.

Off your head? Well, I'm impressed, and nothing is perfect.
