Ignis was one of the most friendly and sociable horse you could find. She was the kind that made you smile and feel accepted. It was clear she did not judge you but instead appreciated you for who you are no matter what. The 300 years she had lived so far could have made her bitter and harsh. Instead it made her open-minded and caring. Those years shaped her into the Guardian of the stables, yet also a friend for all of those whom she protected and cared for. However, there seemed to be an exception to that: Drac Cavalls.

Or more specifically Zack. Now Ignis had been flirted with before and she was fine with it, but for some reason when it came to Zack she just wanted to rip his head off. He was an infuriating sort of stallion who seemed to be attracted to her for many reasons except for her personality. Perhaps he enjoyed making her irritable. Either way he had ruined her view on other Drac Cavalls. Of course she would keep and open mind, yet she would have trouble not being biased against all Dracs.

There came the day when another Drac came along. Her name was Belladonna.

Belladonna had a sad past where each day was killed or be killed. Her will was strong, but her spirit had been broken from being taught to fight so much. There came the day when she was tossed out as scrap. However, she was the piece of leftover scrap that many others saw from her, she was strong. Yet she was still broken. Those days of fighting had left her with wounds physically and emotionally.

She would never have part of her mane because of the scars from a bad battle. Nor her tail when it had been viciously ripped off. Her chest was no thing of beauty. Instead it was covered in a large scar from when another Dras went after her heart with his searing fire. Her face ripped up from other Dracs horns get her. Her gorgeous wings scattered with holes. These were just the physical wounds they left her. These will always be on her without a way to replace them. The emotional wounds were much deeper, much more painful than the physical ones. Even worse than when her tail was ripped off. These emotional wounds left her fearing many things: closed spaces, whips, humans, even other equines. No longer could she trust these things. She became destructive and quite aggressive.Even when she doesn't want to be.

Now she was being "passed around" to others to try and help her with her emotional wounds. Help her become the Drac Cavall mare she was supposed to grow and age into. Not the beast that she was whipped into. It was one of those times when she met a very interesting mare and an even more interesting man.

The mare had frightened her at first. They were the same height and had very similar colors. However this mare seemed untainted by the cruelty of the world. She was also fearless and smart. A lot smarter than the Drac mare. It was the keenness of the mare that the Drac feared. The Drac had seen keenness before, but it was not in the good way. She saw in the wicked smiles of mankind as they traded money and sold Dracs. It was in the eyes if her opponent about to make a strike that could end her. Seeing this keenness dredged up these horrid memories and so she did the one thing that came to her naturally: she set the mare on fire. However the mare did not burn. In fact the fire danced upon the mare's coat as if it were oil and she fire. It  made the Drac mare shiver at the anomaly before her, but it also made her comfortable.

Then the mare whom was still on fire spoke, "Heh I can sense that you're afraid of me, but there is no need to fear me as there is no need for I to fear you? You see your flames cannot hurt me for I know the magic of fire and with this magic fire cannot hurt me," the mare explained her voice steady. As she spoke, the Drac Cavall mare calmed. she could see the keenness in the mare, but what she did not see now was there was no cruelty to it. "However, I see you have been burned before and that I know could cause you to fear me. I promise you there is nothing you should fear from me." The mare had made all of the fire vanish as soon as she stopped speaking. "By the way, the name's Ignis," she introduced herself giving a little bow. Little did the Drac Cavall mare now she should fear those words Ignis had spoken. The mare may seem harmless, especially after the promise, but what the mare was thinking was not that of something harmless. Her thoughts made her be wary and watchful. She knew this mare could be harmful without even meaning to.

The Drac Cavall mare laughed, politely that is, at hearing the mare's name. Ignis! Of course a fire user would be called something that would give everything about her away. She suddenly remembered that she did not state her name, but when she opened her mouth the words would not come out. Finally she mumbled, "Belladonna."

Ignis looked at the mare quizzically. "Excuse me?"

The mare lowered her head avoiding eye contact. Really, did the mare not really hear? Or was she being made fun of. In case it was the first reason and not the latter the mare spoke again, "M - My name, it's Belladonna."

It was as if her words were magic. As soon as they came out, a man appeared. He had cocoa brown skin. Long bleach white hair tied up in a pony tail. A loose red v-neck and tight-fitting jeans. In his hands he held a bag of some sort. The way he walked was slow and casual as of he wasn't paying attention to the situation. He didn't look at eith mare just continued to walk towards them.

As he neared Belladonna leaped up to her hind legs and began to beat her wings. Humans were trouble. They had been the reason why she was what she was today. How could she ever forgive them? Her fire began to build up in her chest. As it reached its peak the mare Ignis stopped her.

"Belladonna wait! Please he is not like the man who enslaved you! At least give him a chance," the mare begged not daring to move until the mare Belladonna relaxed a bit. She could still tell the mare held onto the fire she had created inside of her.

"Alright, but Ignis if you are lying I do not think I could trust you again," Belladonna snorted relaxing her muscles enough to let the fire inside her die down. Ignis nodded her head and stepped away. What was now in front of Belladonna was the same man.

Except his back was turned. And he held something in his hands. It smelled of something delicious. She recognized that smell. It was a rare one. This smell told her this man held meat in his hands. She could just attack him and get this meet, but something told her that Ignis would not be so kind if she dared hurt this man. Yet she wanted the meat that this man had. It was clear that she had to do something to get it. She was unsure what she should do and even if she did it if she would even get the rare piece of meat.

Ignis looked at her letting out a sigh, "Well are you going to take it gently out of his hands or not?" After she said that the mare seemed to ignore Belladonna clearly aggravated about something. The Drac mare had yet to meet Zack, so she had no idea that words he had spoken to the mare hours before had annoyed her to the brink of her losing her sanity.

However, Belladonna seemed not to care about Ignis ignoring her. She was now stuck between a very hard decision. Should she take the piece of meat or should she leave? The humans had never done anything nice to her, but this one might be the exception. Although he could have poisoned the meat. Then again she detected no hint of any poison she would know that could hurt her, just the savory smell of fresh meat. Maybe taking a small piece wouldn't hurt?

She crept up to the man and stole a tiny piece of the meat then fled a few yards away to savor it. And oh it was good meat! She had never tasted anything so juicy, so fresh. She wanted more, but as she went to go back to get some more the man had changed positions. No longer was he facing away from her, but towards her. He was not looking at her still. She mustered up all her strength and crept toward him again once again taking a small piece from the man.

This back and forth continued on for quite some time. By the time it was over, the man could actually touch the mares head, neck and shoulders. It was clear that even if this step seemed small, that it had been a huge impact on the mare. It seemed that she was as afraid nor aggressive to other humans as she had been before.
