I know of that comic. It's an excellent comic, but a fan comic so it's not really what happened (But it is most likely what happened) I've seen them blush at each other in the cartoon occasionally, but other than that I never saw much between them

The same could be said for Sonic and Sally (although nowadays, they're slowing mending past broken bridges) and other pairing on show's for kids', because they go no further than hand-holding, hugging, and just maybe, a kiss or two.
