Penny "Glory Bee"--at approximately 16ish-years-of-age.

Backstories for fictional characters fascinate me, so when I stumbled upon potential backstory info for Goofy and Max Goof (from one of my all-time favorite movies--A Goofy Movie. ^__^ <3), I really wanted to try my hand at drawing this character--Penny/Glory Bee--the possible wife of Goofy and mother of Max.

I found a website that pictured the "Goofy Family Tree" [link] According to the tree, Max's mom is a dog-face character named "Penny 'Glory-Bee'" After doing a bit more investigation I discovered that "Penny" and "Glory-Bee" may not necessarily be the exact same character. (seen here: [link]
[link] ) According to the tree website, though, it is suggested that "Penny" is a younger "Glory-Bee", who is given her nickname because of her overused catch-phrase.

This drawing is the result of putting pencil to paper as all these ideas kept tumbling around in my head. On the one hand, I wish there were more information available on this character, but on the other hand, I'm glad to have a vaguely developed character because it leaves a lot of room for creative liberties and ideas to be taken when thinking about and drawing this particular character. (for instance, this drawing suggests my idea that Glory-Bee has dreams of becoming an animation artist.) It was fun. The coloring was a bit of a challenge, though. I tend to favor muted tones, but I felt that, as a member of the "Mickey and Friends" universe, her coloring deserved to be a bit more saturated. Yup. Enjoy! ^__^
