Nice lines. Really brought this piece out well. Just enough texturing but not too much.

After seeing this I think I need to quit inking because this is way too awesome work. How did you get your lines to look so smooth?

That's what every artist hopes for, to inspire despair in others. Like we've talked about before, the key, at least for me, is a good pressure-sensitive pen interface. I've also noticed that the new CS6 version of Photoshop has a lot smoother brush rendering than I've had in the past.

I can see the difference in your textures and how smooth it is because I am doing the same piece right now in CS4 version of Photoshop and I am noticing a big difference right away because mine is not as smooth as yours. So I have moved on to do other things. Yeah when you get good enough at something you hope that people are so awed by your work that they will either be inspired or despaired by it.

CS4 should still be able to do quite a bit. Everything in my gallery before the end of August was in that version. Be sure that in your brush options you have "Allow Smoothing" checked. Otherwise it just take's practice with the tablet and your pen.

Aah I see I will need to check some more things out then. I was working on this same piece but I was not satisfied with the ends of my hair fading too quickly and not looking as good as you have yours. It is one of the better pieces I have worked on so far but not I am not as happy with it because I know what I can do in traditional inks and have done in the past with my digital inks. So I think I will go back and look at some things and see if I can clean it up some more. I really like DA because I talk with people like you and get a better idea of how do my work better without causing problems to other people and their work. I have ran across a few who don't want to help or give advice on how to do the work better but they are only a few the rest like yourself are very helpful. So thank you for all your advice and ideas.
