I remember watching Brave for the first time several months ago, and in my opinion, it was pretty awesome flick. Disney and Pixar definitely swithed roles last roles last year, since disney was doing more of an interesting/explore a world outside your own kind of movie, and Pixar doing a princess movie. In Brave however, there are many similarities and differences between it and other past disney princess movies. But what struck me about Merida is that she is the first and so far only disney princess without a love interest. I know that in the past two DP movies the two protagonist were a guy and girl who go an adventure and end up falling in love in the end, but with Merida, the pairing is with her mother, and the relationship she has with her. I thought that was an interesting relationship to explore in a princess movie and it was totally a different path.

But more about these two. Now out of the three suitors for Merida in the movie, I liked Young Macguffin the best. Sure he's a fast talker, and you can barely understand him but thats what makes him a likable character. Plus he's really strong (did you see how he broke that log in half with no effort) which I think girls would find attractive. But the number one reason I paired these two up is because originally he was suppose to be Merida's choice out of the three, and also according to his voice actor, he actually likes Merida. So I thought that played into everything very well and made sense. Not to mention, for some reason, I like slim girls with big guys for some reason, I don't know. I tried to make it to where the will o wisps made a heart shape around them, I'm sorry if they look more like glowing blue orbs than wisps. I had some trouble. But anyway enjoy the drawing.
