I've been meaning to paint scenes from Alice in Wonderland for years, but I didn't feel I could do Lewis Carroll's tale justice. But recently, I vowed to use less pink and purple, so I guess I had to give it a try.
I was not sure about the composition (still aren't), but the result turned out alright to my mind nevertheless. And I have to say drawing and painting the mushrooms was great fun Although my scanner kind of killed it a little. I don't know why scanners don't like blues and yellows, honestly.

Watercolors and white gouache.

*Edit* The scanned version was too pale to my tastes and it's been bothering me, so I gave it a second layer of blue this weekend. Yup, that's me, instead of working on new art, I'm fussing over old artwork. Anyway, hope you like the improvement (if you notice any). I sure do!
