The sunset is beautiful, more than usual, and the sun shines in a bright yellow color when it touches - almost kisses - the lake, covering the snow with her golden rays. The air is cool and crisp, it is a perfect end of a short winter day. Soon, you hope, the foxfire will play on the sky, and you will stop to watch it on your way home. Maybe you'll even see a coyote, it's pretty long ago since you've seen one of the handsome canines.
Then, breaking the quiet of the winter, you hear the sound of snow falling into the lake. It's not a high sound, but enough to make you turn your head, locking eyes with a full-grown bobcat only meters away from you.

Using the excuse and writing a small story... Nothing which has ever happened to me, wish it had... We don't have bobcats in Norway. If you want more of these small stories, tell me, I'll be happy to write them.

So - my newest project. I like the lynx and the snow, but not the background... I didn't really know how to draw that. This was, after all, an exercise in lighting, the reference photo was taken on a cloudy day. Reference can be found here: pixabay.com/en/bobcat-lynx-sno… .

Colored pencils on A3. Time spent... I take a wild guess on around 30 hours.
