Fungus is one of four living ancients (who are just folks that lived well beyond the average age-range); and he is one of the mostly-gone architects that helped build the factory in paradise. They were a well-known inventor for their time, and worked alongside their partner, Antimony (whose still alive! they just both assume the others dead)
Incredibly wise and patient, currently living away, secluded from practically everyone.
