Yeah, sure ^^ I've seen women run in high heels too ! But I think that combat situations the like Samus sees require some more sturdy shoes, something that doesn't get stuck everywhere or might break... but if you hide some blades inside, why not ?

I rarely (if even ever, perhaps only in the movies) seen a woman getting stuck with her heels.
And as I said, Samus isn't an ordinary woman.
She's highly trained and gifted. ^^
