Description
insp musicI've always loved fantasy, but never really got into fairies and the like. I'd always had a weird aversion to "overly-girly" things as a kid that I never really grew out of, and I'd always seen fairies portrayed as these tiny barbie dolls with leaf clothing and butterfly wings. I think it wasn't until I saw The Wizard of Oz movie (the 2014 one) that I could imagine them as... wildlife? Like, actual critters? I mean, that movie itself was very forgettable, but the world building and environments were actually very well-done.
anyways!
after drawing some of these guys i freaking love fairies now. look at them. look at those wonderful babies. he found a feather!!!!! im so proud.
I should mention that I'm actually planning a game right now. I don't know if it will ever really happen, or even how far I will get, but I can't shake this idea, so I want to try. After being real freakin shy about it for like half a year, I've been convinced by some videos on youtube to open it up to the public. I'm not sure at this point exactly HOW open I'm willing to make it-- I personally hate spoilers, so I'm not sure if I should give you guys the plot and stuff, but, uh, yeah! I wanna make a game, I have no experience making a game, and would like to get some friends on board to help me except I'm also shy about that too.
learning as I go!!! ":y
These guys will be in it, though, hopefully!
Fae are small, social, opportunistic omnivores. They live in colonies of 50-200. The average adult is 5.7 cm height, 11.9 cm wingspan, 1.9 g. They seem to be quite intelligent and curious, and have been documented using tools, washing food, courting others with gifts, and even wearing clothing prototypes in certain seasons. They seem to be drawn by sweet scents and bright colors, and have been known to also take soft material such as clumps of hair or fur. They are considered to be a pest in some border communities for nesting on walls, stealing trinkets and food, and destroying gardens.
thanks for looking!!

it is! these guys are about the size of a hummingbird, though, so I think it's proportional. i don't know if any amount of vegetable gardens can sustain 1000+ omnivore hummingbirds.
actually we're not into the actual game dev phase yet. I'm still looking for writers, visual designers, etc. Still world-building a plot-writing. I would absolutely love anyone with any coding experience, sound design, level design, etc. etc. to give me a realistic perspective of what we have to do but I was thinking we could perfect the world first and then worry about actually getting it done
I would be happy to include you!

Also I like the way you draw their weird little feet, lol!
Its just a very nice stylized design for bug people without being too boring and humanoid.
Tiny claws cuddly marshmallow babs!

SWEET BABIES!!
I love the freckles! He's so proud of his feather!
I've gotta agree that I was unfairly soured on fairies for a long time cos of the cliche girly stereotype design that was all you'd ever see. But I think creative critter fairies are some of the best things ever!
Also i am excited for your game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
