I promised I would make a tutorial. I'm horrible at explaining things, so I think I ended up over compensating and explaining too much, if that makes since. God I'm so afraid this thing won't make any sense to anyone but me. Oh well, what's done is done. I hope this helps everyone who wants to know how I do my line art. Comment here if you have questions/comments/concerns

i wanted to ask (aweomse tutorial btw)
i can't see my finished lines i have done like 98% and use 2 layers is that a problem cause the ketch layer is always there
also i coloured accidently so how will i delete that?

as far as the sketch layer goes, just go to the path selection, and delete the work path. I dont know about the colouring deal.

Yeah, it was really good.
I can't do anything worth crap with a mouse, but yeh...that's kind of my own fault...
Anyway...I was REALLY confused with that work path/stroke line thing...
I think I just need to learn to use Photoshop a little better...
Thanks though. Really, it'll probably turn out to be more helpful when I get my tablet.

Its a great tutorial, but I have photoshop 6.0 . Is there a way I can still use it? ....What IS the buttion cause I dont have it on 6.0.... at least not like that.

Those Lines you draw with pen tool, you know with the simulate pressure and stuff, is it possible to achive such lines without the use of pen tool, i.e like just the brush and no tablet. Would be so thankful for your answer. If you don't know its alright, I got to enjoy your terrific tutorial.

aww im sad i was following this and when i go to the step with 'THE BUTTON' it didn't work right, it makes a line the same size as i want in the opposite direction!

Is there any way to get your brushes all whispy like that without a tablet? XD; I have a fujitsu tablet laptop, and photoshop 7, and it really annoys me how I can't figure out how to make them like that.. XD

you truly are one of the few people I've seen with a WORTHWHILE tutorial that doesn't require a tablet or ungodly steady mousework. I have a tablet, and I think I'd rather do THIS than just hand-work

erm, how do you determine the pressure? i keep on getting it wrong, like some lines are too fat and some are too thin...

Thank you so much for making this tutorial, but as a little cheat, I used GhostMouse to do the -Pensize 5,Click,Pensize 4,Click etc-
It basically records whatever you do with your mouse then repeats it

Ahh, this was amazing! I have been trying to figure out how to get that fading effect hat tablets give when you draw with "pen pressure", since my tablet refuses to work ;-;
