Description
Revisiting my love for my favorite book, Le Petit Prince, with a friend who shares it with me. Some years back, I had dressed up as the Fox for a tribute to this novel.Darrel Pobre , a wonderful photographer whom I am fortunate to call my friend, wanted to do a shoot for fun one day so I took the opportunity to portray the Fox again, with some changes I had been wanting to make to the costumes. I retained the strong influence from kitsune of Japanese folklore. I found it rather appropriate for the role of the Fox in the book.
Kitsune ( 狐 ) is the Japanese word for 'fox'. Foxes are a common subject of Japanese folklore. Stories depict them as intelligent beings and as possessing magical abilities that increase with their age and wisdom. Foremost among these is the ability to assume human form. While some folktales speak of kitsune employing this ability to trick others — as foxes in folklore often do — others portray them as faithful guardians, friends, lovers, and wives.

When I saw the thumbnail I thought you were portraying Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin in a Kitsune costume.

beautiful! I wish I had seen this sooner, for I just bought my costume for my dress up for tomorrow night when I should have picked an outfit that better fits the spirit beast of my own heart, the "kitsune". Oh well, there's always next year and thanks again for sharing this with us and so close to Halloween.

I really love the concept for this piece, as well as the colours. Red is great for contrast and purple creates an air of mystery - which I think fits well with the description for Kitsune and the quote in the picture. The costume itself seems well made too. Love how your eyes seem to stand out so intensely from the rest of the picture. Great work!

I'll always be ecstatic that there's actual cosplay of "The Little Prince", and your portrayal of the Fox is as stunning as ever. The mix of Japanese influence was carried out really well, and overall I'm just very much in love.
