Each of these transformations were thematically justified in the story. There was no consideration given to sex. This is a sexless image. Repeat: sexless.
Clover as a Cat-girl, Alex as a Fish-girl and Sam has been turned into some sort of lamppost-girl. (I know Clover was the one in the suit in that episode but Sam doesn't get changed enough.) Make up your own story how this happened. Remember: no sex.

Thanks. It's based on a memory of a design I saw recently somewhere else and cannot for the life of me recall with great clarity. Possibly Marrina of Alpha Squad? Anyway, the obvious intent was to echo bell-bottoms in the way that normal mer-tails echo tight skirts. Originally I had hip fins also but erased them at the last minute.

at any rate, this is cool :3 ill definedly give coloring this a try, though if you can get who ever colored the other one, id still like to see that, but if I do color this ill be sure to mention you and your efforts ^^

As far as I know the creators maintain that everything is played straight with no sneaky undertones. The bondage and D.I.D scenes are spy story staples. The transformations are just childish body-horror. It's all played too blatantly up-front for me to doubt the honesty of the creators.
As for colouring, I'll give it a try sometime.

im still not convinced myself, I think they would say "Of course not" in public statements, but given the wide range of fetishes and the consistantancy of them makes me think that at least one of the creators threw that stuff in for fun, like guy who created wonderwoman putting in a ton of S&M undertones, and some folks at disney sneaking in naughty things (which wasnt really smart) but thats just my thoughts
