Description
So, yeah.Something that I've never actually posted on dA is vent art, because I've always felt that my problems were my own and the rest of the world didn't really need to know, but...I've met some amazing people here that are some of the kindest, most supportive people I've ever known and have helped me a lot.
I was feeling particularly disgusted with generally everything earlier [see: status post], but I'm feeling marginally better now [thank you for listening lovely <3]
Instead of wallowing after my very long, rough conversation however, I decided to channel my 'dissatisfaction' in a less self-destructive way than containing it all inside and bottling it up on the very full, probably boiling over dark bottle in my brain where it usually goes and try some experimental things. I've always loved cross-hatching as a shading technique and love ink designs, so I let myself slowly relax again and just focus on something simple and something that doesn't require a lot of brainpower or attention. As I worked on it more I found myself focusing more on the composition and the meaning behind the piece [up for you to consider, really], and found myself learning which is a lot more than I would have been doing curled up in a ball laying on my bed.
Despite my initial reasoning for starting this piece, I actually found myself having a small bit of fun, or at the very least gleaning some sense of satisfaction from it.
I'm sorry to the people that are waiting on their raffle prizes, this piece was unintentional and the result of stress. I promise I'll get to your pics soon <3
Stay hydrated lovelies.

It never does and I do it far too often :') It's okay lol, I was generally just feeling rough and it was along the lines of 'wow i cannot be productive right now' so you weren't missing much XD Some days can definitely be tough, realizing that more as I try to mix adult and student life more and more otl. This was a good thing, though <:

Sometimes letting it out like this really is the best way. Glad you found an outlet that helped center you!
The black string effect is actually very nice. Fine lines like that are always a trick to get right.

It is, and I'm glad I went through with it this time. Normally if I work on a vent piece I never finish it :T
Thank you! I had a particularly fun time working on that bit. I almost went a little overboard on it, very glad that SAI has an undo button lol

you don't need to apologize! This was something that helped you, and I'm glad you got to work some techniques you really enjoy <3 the smooth lines on the body flow really nicely, and the webbing/strands are intricate and gorgeous!

Thank you <3 It really was a nice experience to work on, I'd like to experiment more with this sort of shading style <: The webbing was probably my favorite thing to work on <3
