Well surprisingly Star Lord doesn't win many bonus points with me.  I think he needs to learn a thing or two about treating women.  He didn't treat Bereet right and she's beautiful!  Love her voice too.

BUT the nice thing is that even though he has his sights on Gamora, she isn't making it easy.  It is good that she knows of his 'pelvic scorcery.'

In a way it would be cool if Rocket found a love interest.  I think in the original comic book story, he does have one.

Drax is funny because he takes everything literally.   And of course, there will be Baby Groot...need I say more?

I do hope that they put a good amount of thought in the second film so it is at least as good as or even better than the first one.

I see where you are coming from there with Peter, but I find that he learned a lot during the movie. Sure, he was bad to Bereet at the, but I find that he was better towards the end, you know? He learned how to be a better person and that wins him a few points to me, IMHO. I do find the Starmora relationship intriguing, and I like it that Gamora, due to her being unused to and unwilling to enter into a relationship, I think she is warming up to Peter, who has clearly become infatuated with her. I really hope Rocket finds a girl. He has one in my story, the Bladed Guardian, if you are interested. I LOVE Drax, as well, and I love how he interacts with the Guardians in the new trailers. It looks AMAZING!

Hmmmm, yeah.  I guess if he finally found himself really attracted to Gamora and he remains true to her then I will change my mind about his personality.  But for now, I find him very flawed when it comes to women.  I come from the 'old school' and I try to be a gentleman to women whenever I can.   Star Lord is FAR from a gentleman in by book.   Sure he probably didn't have feelings for Bereet.   But I did and I find what he did to her was hurtful...especially if she wanted something more out of the relationship.   Next to Gamora, she was the next most beautiful woman in the movie and I immediately took to her.

I am still on the fence about him, but the one good thing was that he saved a planet, but he couldn't do that without help.  In some ways I would even rather see Gamora with Drax.  Drax had a family before, so I think he would actually have a greater capacity for love and being a gentleman than Starlord.  In fact in a fanfic I was playing around with (but never started), I had Gamora ending up with him even though she has an initial tryst with Rocket.

I have the greatest feelings for Rocket because of what he was been though.   When he got upset in the bar and called out everyone about calling him names and being experimented on...I got a bit upset.   I can relate to him because as a child I was picked on often.   Also I am a tinkerer like he is, playing with gadgets and getting kick out of a good explosion.   So I immediately took to him.  He is my favorite Guardian by far.

Yes, I remember that reading that he has a love interest and that is a good thing.   In my story, like I said, he initially gets it on with Gamora as she finds him more 'real' than Star Lord.   But once I was thinking about the more realistic pairing between Drax and Gamora...I wondered what I was going to do for Rocket.   So yeah, I have to do some reading up on whom his existing love interest is in the comics.  Also I want to hold out for GOTG Vol 2 so this way I can learn more about the characters and can better write for them with the release of the second movie.

And yes, of course I HAVE thought of just running with the movie and pair off Gamora with Starlord, but again...I have to see the second movie and see how the character relationships pan out.  So I might still do that fanfic, but right now I am still rather caught up with Strange Magic...and this is the lady that has been on my mind for quite some time now:

I totally agree with you on Starlord. I know he's a jerk, but even during the movie, I personally get the feeling that he learns 'hey, maybe people really don't like this aspect of me. I might want to change that.' and then proceeds to do so. I would love to see Gamora get to really know Peter and Peter to really like Gamora for HER, not her body type or physical appearance.
About your story...sounds kinda interesting. I must admit, it is a little weird to think of Gamora screwing ROCKET of all people. To me, Rocket would not get attached enough to someone to be WITH them like that. Besides, with the whole 'torn apart and put back together, over and over' line, I'd imagine he wouldn't grow to like touching and petting for a while. In my story, Bladed Guardian, Rocket and my Original Character, are a couple of experimented-on Earthen animals that became anthropomorphic on a small planet called HalfWorld (in the movie, it's his recorded homeworld) and then they escape when NovaCorps discovers and shuts HalfWorld down. The pair then meet Groot and eventually make to Xandar, where they find out that they like being bounty hunters after rounding up the scientists. Anyway, I have fun writing it and stuff...

Oh yeah, now we are on the same wavelength when you said he is a jerk.  The jury is out on that and it is a long shot for me, but if in the second film he does as you say and becomes TOTALLY focused on Gamora and no other woman, then my opinion of him could change.   But I am talking he has to become a total gentleman and treat her like a lady.   Wine and dine her...have some nice candelight dinners.  Long walks in exotic places, then yeah I could change my mind.

Well, Gamora sounds 'real' and down to earth.  No games.  I think Rocket would appreciate that quality in a woman.   In terms of how Gamora and Rocket would get it on.  Well let just say a picture is worth a thousand words and the rest would be your imagination:

As for touching and petting remember Drax was consoling Rocket when he lost Groot.  He allowed him to pet him.   So I think he would.  The only reason why I went there is because of that what you said 'torn apart and put back together, over and over again.'  I figured that was something that got to Gamora's softer side.  But as I said, it would be a kind of 'initial' relationship.   But things do change down the line.   Again, I never etched anything in stone with that.  It was something I was playing around with.

That is a good take on it.  But I don't think I am going to get into heavy writing with GOTG until I see the second one.  Then I can get a bigger picture of the characters.

What's the matter?  I am fine with a long conversation.  I don't mind a good chat.

It wasn't the length of the CONVERSATION, it was the length of the reply I was giving you. Sorry for not replying.
I respect you wanting to get a better feel for the characters before doing something like that, but I feel pretty confident in my writing abilities. And if something is wrong in my interpretation, I remind myself that this is why fanfics exist; the slight twisting of a story and making it more original.
Okay...that pic was cute, but...the idea...just kinda...no, thanks. Rocket, in my opinion, I just...sure he let Drax pet him, but that was at a very high emotional point for Rocket, who thought he had lost his best friend. That alone breaks down walls in a person. I think it was kinda of a 'special occasion' type thing. I think he would get used to it fairly fast and THEN he'd be more accepting of a more physical relationship, but...I just don't know. I guess we'll have to wait and see how his character has developed in the second movie.
Peter, in my opinion, might have just gotten used to the 'womanizer' lifestyle of the Ravagers. I mean, he seems like a very decent man, if a little rough around the edges. I would very much like to see Peter get serious with Gamora and be willing to do whatever it takes to make a real, steady relationship work with her. He seems pretty into her at this point, and we know, thanks to the trailer, just HOW into her he is. I think he just isn't used to having to make a relationship work for more than a one-night-stand, and to me, that's the only relationship Gamora would be willing to enter into. She's a really interesting character to me. So tortured, so haunted, but also so...good. She's willing to risk the wrath of THANOS just because Ronan was going do something that Gamora didn't like. She went against everyone around her's wishes and did what she knew to be right, no matter what. Sure, her methods were odd, but I also think she's also just used to the violent, aggressive approach. You're right, though; Rocket WOULD probably like that in a girl, and I like to think he sees that in Blade. Out of pure curiosity, have you read Bladed Guardian?

Oh yeah, if I really wanted to, I could have written something.  In fact I DID start something but I found that getting into the story that there is MUCH to learn about the Marvel world.   For instance, I describe a 'night' scene on Xandar and realized I oopsed big time because Xandar doesn't have a night because of its three suns.  I ran into other situations as well.

LOL, didn't like that idea huh?  Well, being a guy I guess I can picture the scenario .

The scene with Groot and the 'take apart and put together' scene suggested to me that Rocket has a greater capacity for loving than Star Lord...who is just lustful.

So that is why I been on the fence I figured I when the second movie comes out, I will be done with my Strange Magic fanfic by that time and I can just take in a new batch of information on the GOTG characters.  So I decided to put off the story.

So the jury is out with Star Lord.   If he falls head over heels in love with Gamora and gives it his all for her...then yeah, I certainly will change my mind about him.   Hmmm yeah, I saw the trailer.  Got a kick out of Drax's laughing.   However that girl with the antennae that can read thoughts, OMG!  beautiful!

Oh yeah, definitely like Gamora and she does have a good back story as well.  She's also a warrior and that I always like in a woman .

Yup!  That is why in my fanfic Rocket finds that appealing about her.  She kicks butt big time.  While he is good with mechanics and electronics and that is what he uses to kick butt, she uses her body and is more of a melee fighter.  So that is certainly what Rocket finds attractive in her in my fanfic.   No I have not read Bladed Guardian yet.  I been still catching up on my messages.

In all honesty, the Marvel Cinematic Universe IS wide and whacky and wonderful, but GotG is fairly closed off to the rest of the movies, simply because it IS in space, far away from Earth and the Avengers. Oh, really? Then I goofed in Bladed Guardian. Haha, I'll have to fix that. I talked about 'after dark' when Blade and Rocket were on Xandar. Ha.
I'm sorry, but no. I didn't like that idea. It's just...a humanoid and an athropomorphic animal getting it on...that's past the limit for me. Sorry. And, like I said, for me Rocket would not be interested in sex with anyone, at least for a while because of his traumatic past. And it would be entirely foreign to him at this point, in my opinion. He's so used to touching and those type of things being invasive and painful. It would take a long time, to me, for him to come to the realization that 'hey, maybe not every touch means pain and suffering. Maybe these people are actually nice and don't want to hurt me.'. Drax petting him gently would probably be the first step for him.
Gamora rocks! I like that she didn't go for Quill immediately. She caught herself, even though I think she's at least starting to like him. Like we've both been saying, as long as they both commit to a long-term, steady relationship, I heartily support them as a couple. Okay, well, honestly, I support them either way, but seeing them actually make a healthy, loving relationship work is just the icing on the cake for me.
It is completely fine if you don't even want to read my story. I didn't mean to sound pushy, if I did. I just wanted to see what people think of it. That girl in the trailer was AMAZING! I love it! "Do me, do me, do me!" ~Drax. Pure gold.

Yes, it is a big universe.  I only found that out after I started to do some research.  When I write a fanfic, I always do my research on a certain topic if I don't know much about it...this way I don't come off looking like a fool.   Ahhhhh, I see you made the same mistake, huh?   Yep I did it too and low and behold the Nova soldiers all have the triple suns on their chest....duh!  So I don't know HOW I messed that one up.

That is OK.  Some people like that sort of thing...some don't.    Currently in my fanfic which is based on the movie Strange Magic, the main characters are lovers that are very different from each other, but they do have a general humanoid appearance.

Yep!  That was a cool scene where Gamora says, "I know who you are, Peter Quill, and I am not some starry-eyed waif here to succumb to your... your pelvic sorcery!"  Sheer bliss!  Love that line.  Well, if he commits all the way and becomes a true gentleman, then yeah, I would go with the pairing too.   It is just that she's been through a lot and needs a GOOD guy in her life.

I will take a look at it soon.  Just trying to get caught up from the holidays.  I been following the double family deaths of Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds.  It is very shocking and I still can't believe that happened.   Here everyone was saying that Carrie's mother was obviously devastated that she lost her daughter, but that it actually manifested itself inside her to the point where it caused her own death.  Shocking indeed!   Being a huge Star Wars buff, naturally I been following this.   Oh yeah, that mind reading girl  Ohhhhhhh, what a honey!  Pretty pretty pretty pretty!   LOL!  Drax is hilarious...his laugh alone and how excited he gets and yeah, then he goes Do Me, Do Me, Do me.   I have a funny feeling this film will be just as good as the first one.

Haha, that was HILARIOUS! Peter's like 'the frick did I do wrong?' and it cracks me up! I agree that Gamora needs a gentleman to treat her right after all she's been through, but I think Peter COULD be that guy. The relationship might not be a perfect harmony, but whatever the case, we can see that Peter's seriously considering SOMETHING with his 'I am a dancer, Gamora is not' line. He's realizing that they are very different and probably wondering if, perhaps, they could make something work. I think he has really matured since meeting the Guardians and saving the galaxy.
No rush, no rush. If you ever have a spare moment, that's fine. Please don't feel pressured to read it. Yeah, I'd heard that Carrie Fished was in the hospital, but I hadn't heard about the deaths. That's tragic. Oh, man is that girl awesome! I wonder if she ever DOES look at Drax's feelings. That'd sure be funny, I think.

The NovaCorps symbol is based on their triple sun star system and it took a while too before I realized it.   Here I describe this massive night party they are having on Xandar.   Then I was reading more about Xandar and the first thing that slaps me across the face is the mention of the triple suns.  I was like crap...with the three suns, they would never have a nightfall.  So that was a big whoops indeed!   But it isn't that big of a fix...so the night party becomes a day party.

They are a very different couple.  You might ask why are they fighting if they are lovers...well, for that you have to see the movie.

LOVE that scene!  I am like...YEAH! Gamora! Whoo!  Oh definitely...she needs a good guy to sweep her off her feet and that is another reason I didn't go through with the fanfic because I knew the thing with Rocket was going to be temporary.  But where do I go from here.  It would seem that Drax was even a better gentleman than Peter, but I wasn't sure about going that route.   So I just decided to put it aside and wait for GOTG Vol 2.  Sure I could do a 'fling' scene with Peter and Gamora...but that goes solidly against that line that Gamora blurts out in that scene.   This is a woman that isn't going to go for a 'fling' but something more solid and true.  ...I'm mean yeah, I could depict a place and time where Peter is totally devoted to Gamora.   Yeah...I could go there.  Perhaps do something short.

Over the years, she always struck me as 'cute', even though she was a woman in power (senator, leader of the rebellion, a princess).

I like the more down-to-earth celebrities, to be honest. They make watching the movies and things they are in that much more enjoyable, knowing that they are such sweethearts in reality. When the actor(ess) is just a horrible person, I'm like 'I WANT to like your acting and your character, but...no. You are just too much of a jerk'. Not that I can give any examples off the top of my head, but that's just what I think. Those pics are cute and I was genuinely sad to hear that her AND her mother had passed. That's just horrid.
Say, do you have a Fanfiction account? We could continue this there, or through notes on this site. I just...feel bad that we're filling the comments section with this when we're literally just chatting.

Oh, of course.  There are only a handful that I really like, but there are a few I really like...Sandra Bullock became my favorite and is also my favorite looks wise too.  Everything about her I like.

Yes, it was a double hit.  While I wasn't as familiar with Debbie Reynolds work outside of the "Good Morning to You" song, I was more familiar with Carrie Fisher's work and of course I was introduced to her via Star Wars.   She always was pretty and had a very pleasant face. 

I am on Fanfic.net as well as AO3.  But often I just use the PM system her.  Yeah that is true.  You can leave me a note then... most of my friends do that.

Yes, Strange Magic is a cool updated version of a Beauty and the Beast style story.  It is a musical and while it does have new songs in it, it does have older songs too.  In fact it mostly has songs from the 70's an 80's...but the music ranges from the 60's through about 2012ish.    So I followed suit...none of the songs I use are older than from the 60's, but I have used songs as recent as last year.  I think the newest song I have used is Justin Timberlakes' Can't Stop The Feeling. I also used 'Want To Want Me' by by Jason Derulo.  So those are among the newest songs I have used.

Oh yeah. I know that.  I think many might be put off by it...some might like it.  As of now though the whole GOTG fanfic project is on the fence.  Two things need to come first, my finishing my Strange Magic fanfic and also the release of GOTG - Vol 2.
