Personality:
Detached and seemingly oblivious most of the time, and doesn't talk or smile much. But even if it doesn't look like it, he takes a keen interest in the people around him. He's also pretty intrigued by the idea of taming pokemon.

Really, Eamon's a bit like that creepy doll in the corner whose eyes follow you around the room. He likes to stay away from the spotlight and simply observe, but that doesn't mean he won't intervene if he thinks things are getting out of hand. He's a pretty dependable guy when it comes down to it.

Backstory:

Eamon was born in Orre, the second of two children. He had a fairly normal childhood, not particularly good but not particularly bad. But being in a town of miners and thugs, he got into the habit of playing on his own and avoiding other people, which is probably the reason for his behavior in the present. Since the Orre Region has a severe lack of wild pokemon, he's never actually seen one. At the same time, he hasn't been exposed to the troubles the 'monsters' can bring, so he's never become afraid of them. Orre is a partner country with Johto in the war, and Eamon's older sister had always been fascinated with the country. He always admired her, and so when she signed up for the war to help Johto, he joined up too. His mother wasn't very pleased, but his father was rather proud of it.

Extra:
-Throughout his life, he's seen his sister as the most intelligent being on the face of the planet.
-Eamon knows a little bit about Tae Kwon Do, but apart from that he has no experience actually fighting people.
-How to get him angry: Find something to insult about him or his family. Start picking away. He won't pay you much attention at first, but if you keep mocking for a prolonged period of time, his temper will get shorter. After a couple of weeks, he'll actually show signs of anger, but nothing big- clenched fists, narrowed eyes, etc.
-Normally, if you bother him, he'll just try to avoid you.
-He's been annoyed before, but never seriously enraged.
-He's not used to talking to people. If someone actually seeks him out to chat or something, he will be very confused (though he may not show it) and simply stare. If someone repeatedly seeks him out, he'll try to avoid them, but he will still find them much more interesting.
-Feels a bit queasy at the idea of killing someone.
-His expressions can usually be read by his eyes- the widening, the narrowing, the glancing here and there are all indicators of his mood, and much more reliable than his pokerface.
-Eamon doesn't like making choices. He very much likes being told what to do.

Pokemon

Alaric | Shinx | Brave Nature | Intimidate | Male:
Alaric isn't really sure what the point of the war is. He's more preoccupied with trying to settle into his natural habitat, to try to find outlets for his instincts. Pack? He's got a human to take care of now. Hunting? Hello war. His personality is upbeat and optimistic.
Alaric is slowly coming to terms with the fact that Eamon is much more fragile than he anticipated (the kid can be stunned by the shock of a low-level Shinx!). Upon evolving, he's decided that he needs to become the alpha of their group, so as to better protect his partner and pack.

Valamir | Monferno | Relaxed Nature | Blaze | Male:
Valamir has no real grudge against humans. In fact, he's pretty comfortable around them. He just has trouble figuring out which human he's supposed to be listening to, so he's glad to be handed over to a single one now. He appreciates Eamon's quiet personality, and is strangely fascinated by the human's red hair (anyone's red hair, to be honest. If you're a redhead, you're automatically one of his favorite people). He puts up with Alaric's affectionate attitude fairly well, but growls if it gets too smothering. He has no plans to take the alpha position.
As an Infernape, there is the addition of the flame on his head. Typically it just simmers there, but when he's in the middle of a fight, you can tell when he's serious because then it blazes much higher.

Teia | Girafarig | Timid Nature | Early Bird | Female:
Teia is rather large for her species, so it was hoped that she'd be tougher as a result and make a good addition to the Johto military. As it turns out, she's actually a big scaredy cat. When faced with confrontation, she'll either make a break for it or freeze up (when she freezes, her tail's brain takes the lead and controls the body to either attack or get to safety). As such, she knows moves that work more on the defensive side.
At first she was very skittish around Eamon, but he just kinda sat there and scribbled in a journal most of the time. Eventually she decided he was very predictable, and therefore safe. She warmed up to him gradually, and at this point has become as horribly fond of the human as Alaric. Eamon somehow managed to get his hands on some western riding tack, so he's taken to using that, since she's big enough to ride.

Liuva | Lucario | Quiet | Inner Focus | Male:
Finding a wild Lucario is nigh impossible due to their rarity and evolution method, but Johto managed it. Why such a valuable pokemon got into Eamon's hands is a mystery, but it may have to do with the dead look in this pokemon's eyes. A Lucario evolves out of happiness, so at one point Liuva was very happy, but obviously something happened to destroy it, leaving him morose and for the most part unresponsive. His attacks in training were halfhearted at best. But after spending a few days with Eamon, the light started coming back. While still rather gloomy, Liuva has somehow come to regard Eamon as his cub; meaning he's very protective, to the point he'd probably die to save him.
Liuva's also starting to link up with Eamon telepathically...or as telepathic as one can do with aura. At this point Eamon can't hear his words, but feels what's implied ("that thing, that thing. Get away from that thing, it's bad."). It will be slowly progressing in strength.

Updated his outfit- it's nothing big, just a few little changes. I had a little help from someone who remembers her relative's uniform from the war (of course, that relative was in the air force, but she still had a few pointers about the differences between the WWI and WWII uniforms). Yeah. Hope I didn't cause anyone trouble with that!

As for the names, I've decided to stick with Gothic ones. Going with a theme, I guess.

And Eamon's team is getting to be a safari. A lion, a monkey and a giraffe? Wow.
