Description
Finally done! This drawing is for the wonderfully inspiring , whose drawings are always fun and relatable. These are her characters, Elias, Mias, and Elle. It was kindof inspired by her whole gallery, but mostly by three pics: [link] [link] [link]
Like the second pic, Elias is casting some sort of spell on Elle, and Mias is rather upset by it. (I didn't know how to make Mias look angry at Elias without also making it look like he was trying to crush her skull at the same time, hence the uncharacteristically concerned expression XD )
Penned and colored by hand with copic multiliners/markers on Canson smooth bristol 14x17. Reprinted on two sheets of the same paper for coloring, all the shiny bits and background added in photoshop.

P.S, go listen to Razia's Shadow by Forgive Durden. Don't ask questions, you'll thank me later

His hair isn't actually all that long, I just drew him with a fur mantle like Mias.

the shading is good. are those pens anything like promarkers if you ever used those? Just askin cause I want new colourpens, and I dont like promarkers.

Because I have never used promarkers, my best answer is that I have never used another marker that handles like a copic sketch marker. They simply are the best for blending. If you are looking for similar results, you will need to have a lot of colors (expensive) and quite a bit of practice as well. That doesn't mean a different marker is not going to be a good learning experience, but you may not achieve the same results from a different/lower quality product.

yes I know been drawing/painting since I was little, promarkers are expensive too and you need many colors as well. but thats why Im askin this so I dont spend my money on something that needs lot of work in the computer to make it look ok. thanks for the answer.

High quality art materials are worth every penny you spend on them. I've worked in art supply retail as an artist for the past 5 years and can never recommend enough that people invest in better quality materials even if it means purchasing fewer at a time, because they are worth the money and give the results you want and expect rather than an inferior product that you get more of but poorer results.
As for transferring images to the computer, it depends on your scanner and software, but I always find that I do some retouching on the computer because rarely does the initial scan match the drawing in terms of color, lightness, etc, but a little sprucing up really does a lot for your image. It also makes those bleeds you could almost cry over and special effects that don't seem to work in marker much easier. Using them together can be very powerful indeed. is a huge comic book artist who does his marker drawings in monochrome and tints them on the computer, which is a great way to go, since it's much cheaper to get grayscale markers (typically there are no more than 10 values, though there are different types of grays) and tint them on the computer. Here's a great example of how he works: :thumb331685538:

I believe in every word you say, its so true. But then again if you look at what I do most (charcoal) you dont need expensive stuff to make a good picture. But as an artist you wanna try many things to find your style and favourite painting or pens etc. And I dont know if I could get my pictures better with those pens youre using, its great for you I can see clear but I dont know for me. Maybe when I get more money or something, dont have that money now even thou I work all the time. But anyways, thanks for your answer. oh, and happy new year!

talent is alright, but my currents skills came from a lot of hard work, practice, and dedication. Keep drawing and doing your best to learn from others' successes and your own, not ignoring mistakes that you can also learn from. Look at lots of art with a critical eye and apply what you see to your own work. I can't say enough of and , whose work taught me so much about how to draw. Don't give up!

Oh good grief! This is INCREDIBLE! *stares for ages* I've been holding back on saying this until the finished piece but it has a really dramatic, epic and biblical feeling about it, like the way Leonardo da Vinci would composit one of his paintings, the poses and actions leading you through what is going on and it was so easy to see what you were trying to convey even without the colours, but now, just wow. Its stunning hun. Thank you so much for this! I love it! The background works so well too! This is an outstanding piece! I love you!
And its wonderful to see Mias looking concerned for once.
