Description
A small preview from the book I'm making about drawing backgrounds. If I make it sound like using only visual texture is a bad thing, it really isn't. Plenty of amazing artists only use visual texture. It's all about what YOU like to use in your art.

I've never heard of this concept before but that bedroom example showed me just how much of an impact it has, in the last drawing I could practically feel the textures of everything, it is amazing! Thanks so much! I am in eager anticipation of your book, I can't wait!

This is super useful. I hadn't actually thought about splitting it up into visual and touchable texture!
As far as the book formatting goes, perhaps things on the example page could be rearranged so that the final two examples are better aligned?

Yeah, I might swap out than Sleeping Beauty for something else in the final book, I think that's the one that was causing the others to be weird shapes.
Thanks for the feedback.

This is lovely! When I get better at making backgrounds and settings in general, I'll keep this in mind. I'd love to get your book when you're done!
You are incredible at explaining these aspects of art creation!
Well, time to explore the rest of your gallery...

Awesome, the book will be free to download, it'll just take me until the end of April to finish it.

Wow, textures make a big difference. I will have to give that a try.

I really didn't give texture enough credit for making things look awesome when I first started this stuff.

I plan on making more books after this, but personally I think I need to learn a little more about lighting before I try to write a book about it.

LOL I here ya there! Lighting is the stuff of myth and legends, not to be understood by the mere mortal mind hehehe. I'm down for beta-reading anything you write! You just let me know lol
