This moth is my worst nightmare. I'm terrified of moths so much and this is the largest moth (Measured by wingspan). I love the photo though! wonderful shot and it's one of the best exposures I've seen

Atlas moth named after the greek god Atlas condemed to carry the world/sky on his shoulders for the end of time being turned into a mountain by Percius the man who slaved the gorgon Medusa Percius slaved the gorgon to save his mother from marrying a king and used the head of Medusa to turn both the king and Atlas to stone returning to his own kingdom his grandfather threw Percius and his mother into a crate in the ocean after his mother had been impregnanted by Zeus the grandfather feared a grandchild because it was foretold that the child would kill him Also sorry about the rant but Atlas reminded me of it and the moth constantly does it

I love butterflies and moths, but if I wandered outside and saw that, I'd scream and run.

moths tend to be not as appreciated as much as all colorful butterfly's, the giant atlas moth and many other moth species are acceptations to the rule.

I seen them before in Emmen Zoo the netherlands. People were debating wether or not those were real butterflies till one of them took off
