So I decided to draw my inkling with the loadout that I use. Β Despite being a game where you just color the ground over and over again, I somehow never get tired of it.

I haven't even unlocked ranked yet, because even though I got my brother the game in November (I am seriously broke because I spent all my money on it), I never really bothered enough to play it. But I started playing this past weekend and man I'm in love already! XD Even if I can only play with a Roller...

Yeah the whole lack of depth thing seems to be a problem I'm running into a lot lately. Β I'm always afraid to go too dark or too bright.

Yeah same here haha... But for some reason when I do traditional art, I don't have any problems with adding the darkest shades or the brightest highlightsΒ Β
Oh well, practice makes improvements! (Because perfection is practically unattainable

I think it's easier with traditional cuz you can just use the blank part of the page as bright highlights. Β I don't really do much traditional though

I agree, improvements may take a while but if you're having trouble knowing if you're improving: ask a fellow art friend to look at your art, see if they can see anything's changed! I have trouble seeing my own errors and/or improvements too so a new eye is always a great help

Well, my friends usually just say that it's better probably cuz they're trying to make me feel good about it.
Personally I'm just trying to find my own style. Really sucks to have to change the way that you draw things constantly until something sticks, feels so inconsistent.

Splatoon, eh? I've never played it myself (mostly because I don't have a Wii U ;0; ) but I've heard a lot of positive stuff about this game.Β
Anyway, I'm really digging the colors! The shading's very nice as well + the texture on his cap (?) is a cool little touch.
I also like how you made his eyes, as simple as they are - maybe that's because of the colors again? c;
