Quite somplie really. Put the tiles on a white piece of paper, shot them, then in PS, used the levels function, to make the white WHITE, then put it on a white background and added the border

Just browsing the minimalism submissions for ~devARTISTS and I gotta say this is one of the best. Good composition is what caught my eye - good use of negative space.

I tried this as wallpaper and with the frame and all that white it looks terrible. I like the image but don't get the rest? Have you tried this as a full screen wallpaper?

I certainly have. It is my current wallpaper. Peronally I like it. I use dual monitor at home, and so on the second screen you don't have the taskbar and it makes it look better. Just a conflicting personally opinion here I think

When I put it on my computer the icons overlapped the frame, does this happen with yours or do you re-arrange your icons differently? Or do you not use desktop icons?

I do use them, but I shove them out the way, towards the centre. It doesn't bother me where they go, wherever best suits the wallpaper generally prescribes where they go for me
