Description In line with wanting to progress in my portraiture abilities, I took my camera along with me to see my sister with my nephew in the IOW last weekend. One day, we went down to a famous place called Alum Bay. Whilst the weather was a bit grim, I shot off a large number of pictures. This is one of a handful of good ones.

edit: Desaturation, Brightness & Contrast, Border

technical: Shot on Fuji NPS 160 with a Canon EOS 33, with a 28-90mm lens at 90mm.

Your gallery is so awesome, i love photography!!!! i wanted to be one when i was younger. Your pictures are very cool! thanks for sharing them! i really wish i could take better pictures, or even draw somewhat decently... oh well! You have a lot of talent!

what an adorable photo! i relli love the way the boy is in focus and how the waves crashing onto the shore is blurred a bit. makes for a nice effect...i also like his expression and pose. he is quite the model.

awwwwww... who's a cute lil adorable boy.... dave is... yesh he is...

sorry... im feeling rather funny tonight and i dont know why...
i like this picture... it makes me think of that pure innocence of children who are still to learn all the corrupted things in the world... its strange, because people tret kids like they know nothing, but i think, in their own uncorrupted way, their view of the world is so much better, so much more RIGHT than ours...
*sigh*... why cant politicians be kids? they'd settle everything with a couple of games of indians and soldiers...

nah. george bush hasn't got the mentality of a child... his meaning of revenge is tainted... for a kid its "he hurt me, so ill hurt him"... for bush its more like.. "they pulled crap on my dad, so lets go kill some of them"
its ridiculous... but i suppose... his game playing in iraq is a bit like childs play... ludicrous in fact... cant believe that someone would use such a lame excuse to go kill so many people...

the world is a funny place though...

Actually I'm going to rectify something here. I wouldn't say I'm alcoholic...only on the nights I drink, like last night, phwoar that was a heavy one.

oh that is beyond adorable! the composition and focus are incredible. they work very well

the position of your nephew is quite good too. i dont like how thick the border is, it sort of takes away from your nephew, and distracts me from that incredible coastline. the rough ocean is fantastic too. oh this photo is just great.

Thanks very much. I'm deeply glad you liked it. I didn't even really experiment into changing the border size: I just did my usual with trying anything else. Maybe that's something to look into Thanks alot
